Answer: In the last 4 years or so, Ek Tha Tiger had the highest opening day occupancy, which is comparable to Happy New Year, but Ek Tha Tiger was little ahead occupancy-wise.
Dhoom 3 would have surpassed Ek Tha Tiger, but couldn’t because it released on a non-holiday. Amongst non-holiday releases, Dhoom 3 is way ahead of the rest since 2010.
Released on 3300 screens, Ek Tha Tiger collected 32.92 crore on its opening day (August 15 2012), a record that was broken by Chennai Express only by a few lakhs, a year later during Eid.
2014 releases, Happy New Year had the highest opening day occupancy, followed by Singham Returns, Bang Bang, Kick and Ek Villain.

ett,s occupancy level is much higher then any other in last five years after ett salman dont have any holiday release next year prdp will be first movie to collect 50 cr. in single day
@ ajay rocks- bro u asked me about my bang bang review but i am busy in love wanna watch movie bang bang and hny fully but i watched half bang bang at friday and 66 minutes of hny today. my present gf and future wife forcing me to not watch quality in bang bang and manipulation in hny so i will watch both movies later. bang bang is a quality movie and i dnt like quality movies so for bb’s first half -1/5 rating.

Salman is no more the single star who was dominating the industry from 2010 to 2012. ETT was his last record breaking venture.Now Amir is doing movies regularly,and SRK is back (he had dull phase of his career till CE).Salman does not have a single record of present age.Kick,jai ho,dabang 2 although fared well(except jai ho) but was not record breaking.

Ek tha Tiger’s Craze was all to gather on another level same with D3 eveone from industry trade expected them to break records.. CE was never in the race but it did even after pewiew shows on privious day… talking about HNY, this was the only big budget movie that carried negative publicity prior to its release and still managed to break record by distance..
