Drishyam had a decent weekend at the domestic box office with net collections of Rs 29.56 crore. The film is the 7th highest first weekend grosser of 2015, behind films like Baby, Dil Dhadakne Do and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
‘Drishyam’ has probably lost around 20-25% of its business to an acclaimed film like ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, which continued its strong run at theatres in its third weekend. The Ajay Devgn starrer was also a film that was targeted at the family audience, which meant that business was divided between the two films.
However, ‘Drishyam’ is carrying tremendous word-of-mouth publicity, which should ensure that it has a long and successful run at the box office. The hold on Monday will be the key. If ‘Drishyam’ can sustain at around the 6.5 crore mark, it should go on to be a reasonably good grosser.
‘Bangistan’ releases in theatres next week and that film is unlikely to affect the business of ‘Drishyam’.

Senselessness lies in people’s mentality, not in their jobs or any personal honest work.

It was a good thriller.yap first half was little letdown but after interval it was a joyride as I kept guessing.
From cricket celebs , politicians, more and more critics of movies from Times of India ,hindustani Times , imdb 9/10 , from online users, public am jantaa all are praising this movie. Arguebly the best hindi thriller movie ever except you don’t want to accept thinking by accepting Ajay is better than the other superstars? No it’s not about that it’s strictly on Vijay and meera and the rest from drishyam crew. Certainly it’s not strange for filmfare not to award best actor award to two of Bollywood most nominated superstars Salman sir and Ajay sir,but definitely this take is for the much higher National award. So I won’t be upset if Salman gets his 1st NATIONAL AWARD or Ajay having his 3rd. Both deserve them. Best will be one shd bag filmfare the other National.
