Drishyam had a decent weekend at the domestic box office with net collections of Rs 29.56 crore. The film is the 7th highest first weekend grosser of 2015, behind films like Baby, Dil Dhadakne Do and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
‘Drishyam’ has probably lost around 20-25% of its business to an acclaimed film like ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, which continued its strong run at theatres in its third weekend. The Ajay Devgn starrer was also a film that was targeted at the family audience, which meant that business was divided between the two films.
However, ‘Drishyam’ is carrying tremendous word-of-mouth publicity, which should ensure that it has a long and successful run at the box office. The hold on Monday will be the key. If ‘Drishyam’ can sustain at around the 6.5 crore mark, it should go on to be a reasonably good grosser.
‘Bangistan’ releases in theatres next week and that film is unlikely to affect the business of ‘Drishyam’.

First Drishyam is very good movie & i dont care how much it will collect because its not a commercial film.
So 60crs lifetime with ppls praise is enough for such kind of film to say successfull.
Those who are bashing Ajay for manipulation have to note that Drishyam is Viacom18 film & not ADF.
Where as K3 was a Filmkart & HNY a Red Chillie Film whose owners are Rakesh Roshan & Srk…so you can blame them for relative manipulation.
Here matter is about honesty & self respect.
Eg.According to tade ETT did 186crs where as producers yrf said its 199.69crs.
Now both BOI & yrf are not god who can count each & every rupee because its very vast area.
So real lifetime of ETT will be anything between 186 to 199.
BOI & yrf both know it.
But if yrf add 0.29crs which is very tiny amount & said that ETT did 200crs then it will become 200crs Club film but according to trade it will remain below 200crs.
Here big banner like yrf not take that risk because it will question their honesty & its not good for their status.
On the other hand K3 & HNY whose real business is between 170 to 180crs.
But producers said its 244crs & 204crs.
But according to trade both are not in 200crs club.
