After a good start on the day of it’s release, Shahrukh Khan’s Don 2 remained steady on Day 2 with collections in the range of 14 – 15 crores, taking it’s two-day total to around 28-29 crores.
Business at multiplexes picked up considerably on Saturday where the film has been liked. But at places dominated by single-screens, there was a slight drop on Day 2.
The weekend record of Dabangg (48.5 crores) is now out of reach and Week 1 collections will be considerably lower than films like Bodyguard, Ra One, Dabangg or even 3 Idiots.
Comparing Don 2 to those films would be unfair though, as it doesn’t really hold the same universal-appeal, which is pretty evident from the single-screen business in the last 2 days.

these 2 days collections shows that don 2 is not going to cross 130cr lifetime im damn sure about that but then it will be termed bb which is good..i have personaly liked the movie alot but indian audience prefer masala(south remakes) movies over advance technology hollywood kinda film..i give it 4/5 rating..

Don 2 has shown very good jump on Sunday. Jump is specially good in multiplex across all India. Many shows in high end multiplexes are Houseful across all India. Single Screen occupancy is still on lower side. Don 2 opening weekend is trending towards 46-47 crore nett all India.

Riding on the popularity of the King Khan and that of the thrilling Don series, Don 2 , the second in the series of Farhan Akhtar s version of the 80s blockbuster, has earned record collections of over Rs 36 crore on the first day of its release. The film, which had aroused huge expectations among cinegoers in the run up to its release, earned collections of Rs 15.30 crore across India on December 23, the day of its release. Trade analysts say this is the highest first day collection ever for a bollywood film on a non-holiday Friday. While the Hindi version of the Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta starrer, which was released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions, earned collections of Rs 147.7, crores on the first day, the Telugu version earned Rs 3, lakh and the Tamil version Rs 10 lakh. While the first day collections in Mumbai were Rs 4.82 crore, the collections in Delhi were Rs 2.75 crore. The film has set records overseas as well, grossing 3.8 million US dollars(approx Rs 20 crore) till Friday. The North American gross earnings of the film were 550000 US dollars from 164 locations. The film, which opened in the US on Friday, beat My name is Khan s (MNIK s) opening day gross of 4,45,000 US Dollars and is also higher than the sum of the first three days of RA-One! The earlier record was Reliance Entertainment s -Bodyguard 74000 dollars. Don-2 has grossed 1,36,000 US Dollars in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
