Dilwale Box Office Opening

Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale has taken a very good opening at the box office. The start was strong in circuits like Mysore, West Bengal, NCR, Bihar and South.

In Maharastra, the opening is good, but Bajirao Mastani seems to have affected the occupancy at quite a few centres in the state. In Gujarat, Dilwale is leading, but the occupancy isn’t as high as what a big film gets on a non-holiday.

The problem for Dilwale is the divide in business at multiplexes. Not only are the shows significantly lower than other big releases like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, but the film is losing out on audience that are opting for Bajirao Mastani instead.

The clash is not similar to Bang Bang vs Haider clash last year, because Haider had a very limited audience and Bajirao Mastani is comparatively a much bigger film. So while the gap between Bang Bang and Haider was huge, the Bajirao and Dilwale battle is close enough to affect both films.

Sample figures from about 30 centres in the morning, suggest opening day business in the range of 18-19 crore. The film would have to pick up as the day progresses to ensure a bigger first day total.

Occupancy wise, it’s the 2nd / 3rd highest opening of the year. There are two ways to look at this. One, the release is smaller and the shows are lesser, so the occupancy has to be higher as compared to other bigger films. At the same time, Dilwale has the huge disadvantage of competing against another big film. So overall, it’s the third best opening of 2015.

  • The biggest nightmare for slb is that bm
    is a slow -paced movie
Bm bores u with every passing moment of the movie ????
    god bless bm now ….!!!!

  • occupancy should be in the range of 80% bcz Dilwale have lower number of screens and with such low screens the occupancy should be high.

  • shame shame shame evenwith much lesser screen the occupancy lower than pre eid non masala bajrangi bhaijaan sheer shame.

  • Audience sleeping in the theater because there is nothing new & who have watched they are vomiting outside the theater after weekend the movie is going to be seezed

  • kal maza ayega jab BOI and Red Chillies wale apna numbers provide karenge…. Don’t Underestimate the power of RED CHILLIES ENTERTAINMENT.

  • I don’t like the movie. No repeat value. I will watch Singham 2010 5 times before trying to find a new invention for Suicide which is watching Dilwale. Watched it because of Varun. Shah rukh khan is doing 1 movie in a year why does he not try and do a more content oriented movie. I am scared he dosent follow Akshay and Saif Ali Khan footsteps.Shah rukh star power now is way behind Salman and Aamir. Sorry Srk fans. The era of Srk is coming to an end. I see this clash another jthj and sos typo.

  • Public reaction to sarooki after watching #Dilwale :Aaj Ke Baad Apni Shakal Mat Dikhana…Jaan Le Lenge

  • Trade figure 18cr to 19cr…. Lal Mirchi will be show 24cr to 26cr…!
@indicine team, where are bajirao mastani box office opening?

  • Interviewer : Dilwale kaisi lagi, Kitne star dete hain
Aam aadmi : Agar Aap ladies na hoti to Main aapko gaali aur thappad maar deta

  • it will progress as the day passes by.
and the next two days will only be about dilwale In SHaa Allah.
    first day-22crs
    second day-25-26 crs
    third day-28-30 crs
    weekend- 78-82 crs
if it hasnt been for the clash it would have crossed 100crs easily

  • The opening day occupancy will not be the sole way of calculating the opening day. There are other factors to consider like
Word of mouth- people may read reviews and want to go watch the movie or they may want to watch evening shows
The ticket prices-a movie watched by multiplex audience will give more money than the single screens. (For the same ooccupancy)

  • @Sultan bhushan Maharshtra is not India.Bajirao is a maratha warrior so naturally people from that region will show intrest in that movie. Can’t say that about the rest of India.

  • Fail to beat Rohits last movie opening day despite clash with a Ranveer. His fans were bragging BM will collect only 4 cr so what a u-turn. Let Rohit work with better actors like Akshay Ajay Salman and see how well the movie does. Worst performance of King Kong of recent time.

  • Indicine sud stop protecting crapwale ..slb knows his product this time thats why he was damn sure he will win this time thats why he clashes with dilwale ..srk stupid morons fan sud know that sawariya wojld have been complete wash out within day one if srk would had casted atleast salman bhai presence made it superhit ??

  • Over hyped as usual like other sarook Khan’s films. Weekend will be 65-70 crs , first week may 110-120 crs , lifetime would be 170-185 crs

  • Morning ocupancy of Dilwale is very good due to Non Holiday Clash Winter affect ocupancy will jump duing the passing day n mostly sat n sun as more screens yet to add
