Dil Bole Hadippa is exciting for several reasons. It marks the return of the “Queen of Bollywood” Rani Mukherji, who has put her heart and soul into the making of the movie and also Shahid “Kaminey” Kapoor is slowly making his way up into the Top 5. Directed by Anurag Singh, Dil Bole Hadippa serves a mixture of Bollywood style romance with cricket!
Veera [Rani Mukherji], an ambitious girl hailing from a small village, dreams of playing cricket for India, with the Dhoni’s and Tendulkar’s of the cricketing world. Since girls aren’t allowed to play cricket, Veera turns into Veer, a man with a beard and turban. Rohan a county cricketer in England, returns to India to coach his father’s cricket team, which has been on a loosing spree for the last 8 years.
Rohan notices Veer and her cricketing brilliance earns her a place in the team. With a female in disguise playing for the men’s team, the secret is soon to be revealed.. What then, forms the rest of the tale.

What works for Dil Bole Hadippa
- Its the spirited performances by the lead pair, especially Rani Mukherji, that makes Dil Bole Hadippa worth a watch this weekend. Rani proves her versatility yet again in a role that reminds you of her Bunty aur Babli act, as Veer she is flawless. Its refreshing to see her in a no rona-dhona role.
- Shahid Kapoor does well too, he shares a warm chemistry with Rani. The portions that involve Veer and Rohan are very entertaining.
- Anupam Kher in yet another DDLJ inspired role does well.
- The climax including the match, is well direction and manages to make an impact.
- Anurag Singh is a talented director and with the right script he is most definitely a director to watch out for.
- Dil Bole Hadippa is a family entertainer, unlike Wanted, which should help its collections improve over the weekend.
- The music by Pritam Chakraborty is good.
The negatives
- While pre-interval portions suffer from slow pace and a disjointed screenplay, the second half is confused with the many themes it deals with.
- The Shahid – Rani romance doesn’t work.
- References to previous Yashraj blockbusters (like a Dhoom 2 poster in the backdrop, DDLJ like entry) tends to get irritating.
- Sherlyn Chopra and Rakhi Sawant have nothing to do, except what they do best (read skin-show).
Overall, Dil Bole Hadippa is a feel-good entertainer that had the potential to be much better than what it turned out to be. While the first half is slow and tends to get boring 30 mintues into the movie, the second and more important half entertains. If you plan a family outing to theatres this weekend, this Rani Mukherji starrer is worth a watch.

Other Notes : Releasing Dil Bole Hadippa and Wanted on the same day, is not really a mistake. Both films cater to different audiences and both should go on to do good business.
Finally, hats off to Rani, she proves yet again, just why she is one of the best leading ladies Bollywood has produced.

When we love someome we do love his movies even if it’s a crap. Now Akshay’s fans r comparing him with SRK, Why?! Akshay is a different character than Shahrukh, so is Aaamir, Salman, Hrithik. Akshay is a good actor.. yes.. but Shahrukh melted millions of hearts from his first movies as he’s very close to everyone’s heart and that’s the secret of him winning the title ( King of Bollywood) including his performance and talents, but Akshay has been acting for more than 15 years I assume and his movies weren’t very successful only since the last few years.
And.. I saw (Sing is King) 1st part today on line and could say that the movie is worthless and to be watched only for Akshay Kumar’s acting. The director is (fooling the audience!) as the King jums from a building and he was wearing a suit then he opens his (parachute)!! How this parachute was hidden under his suit?!!!
Therefore, I’m saying, when people love someone (blindly) and love his movies, they never notice any flaw in his project!

I know that that Sudeep hates Shahrukh, and now you’ve found out the reason why ppl loved Shahrukh, and u hv admitted why Shahrukh is the king of bollywood.
Fine.. that’s not the issue.. you’re saying that the director of RBNDJ as well as the director of DBH are some idiots! and I would say: they are not.. I already mentioned this under RBNDJ’s movie review but I’ve to repeat it again to explain it to you.. yeah.. only beard, only moustach or spect. would never change the face of someone, the feature, and it would be recognized by ppl specially by the member of the same family, but in RBNDJ.. that was a different issue.. let me tell u why.. why it was hard for his wife to recognize him:
1) Shahrukh as Sury was completely and 100% a different guy in his character than Raj, like a black and white different, Sury was a simple quiet guy, even the way he talked was different, was shy, nurd, didn’t know how to treat a woman, unlike Raj who was loud, flirting, wearing a colourful shirt and a tight jeans, dancing, joking, etc. that’s about their character.
2) Raj didn’t hv a moustach, didn’t wear glasses, and had a different hair style and clothes… so their look was so different!
And if the look as well as the character of the 2 guys are just different, so it’s hard for anyone to say that they are.. one guy! ( and the director was not a fool like those directors in the past, in old indian movies.. I remember a movie for Dilip Kumar which he dissapears and everyone think that he’s dead, then he comes back home with the same look but wearing only a black sun glasses and a member in the family couldn’t recognize him!!! nowadays directors aren’t that idiot.. to convince the audience with only a moustach or a beard, so when they want to hide a character, so they transform him into something different..to convince the audience and Aditya Chopra did his best in this movie, to Show Raj in a completely different character.)
Well if I was Anoushka in the movie and married to a guy like Sury and then I met someone who is completely different from A-Z, and there was only similarity in the face.. the feature.. I’d hv had a doubt about them.. that they r one guy.
Moreover.. she kept herself in a distance, wasn’t close to her husband because she didn’t love him, didn’t sleep together, didn’t love each other, she was like a stranger to him.. so.. the director or the script writer were not idiots.
And about DBH.. the director turned Rani into a guy.. she was a girl.. and then she became a punjabi boy, with a beard, moustach, a veil on her head covering her hair( I don’t know what punjabi ppl call this which they cover their hair with) and it was just a funny movie and convincing.
Everyone isn’t like what u mentioned Sudeep.. would say a bad stuff about a good movie just because he or she didn’t like the actor! with me.. if I don’t like an actor I won’t watch his movie but I’d never allow myself to post a comment on a website or say some bad stuff about his movie just because I don’t like him!

I’ve answered Ronnie.. we’re all posting here comments according to our opinions, what we like or dislike.. when I talked about The Dark Night.. I didn’t say that Bahraini ppl hated the movie.. no.. there’re lots of ppl who are “blind” with the box office succes, even in our country.. the cinema halls were just full, and the movie was successful.. I said that I found the moving “boring”.. I don’t like these kind of movies.. even Angelina Julie’s movie Wanted.. the production was good but it was also like a cartoon movie.. a bullet would enter in someon’s head then comes out to enter in someone else’ head.. and the same goes for 2 or 3 other guys and finally stays in her head and kills her!!!!!!!!!! this doesn’t happen even in some annimation movies!! what a crap ppl love, whether they were in India, Gulf Arabia, or US.. whereever.. yeah.. a crap movie.. hahaha. and the scene where she’s riding a yellow car and the way she picks up a guy..hahahahah.. I just lauged at the this scene.. this movie is for teens, kids would admire it!
And the movie (Transformer) is a big big big big example of what I’ve said 100 of times on this website.. so Sudeep.. don’t repeat your questions.. then I’ve to ignore them.. I’m not interested to waste my time repeating like a parrot my answers on every page!
Sudeep: about JTYJN.. right.. you’re right.. the movie is for teens and kids to watch, actually for rats and cats ( and I was imagining while watching it in cinema.. that only cats and rats are sitting around and watching and enjoying it!!) probably it was a successful movie in India because 80% of the audience were of your age.. why not? If the population is big in India so it would make 60 or 70 crores.. why not? In fact ShahRukh is one of the few personalities I am ashamed of since he created such a fuss about nothing to gain some international popularity .. Another example of movie which doesnot deserve to be blockbuster was RNBJ:It was given mix reviews,Tarah adarsh giving this movie 2 star,Rajeev Masand from IBN7 giving this 2 star,Indicine team give it 2,and many more was just avg or below avg except from star news giving it 4 star….and,for me too,it was slow pace..it look like this movie is more than 3 hrs long eventhough it was around 2:45 hrs.I know u love this movie
But fact again remain that,SRK has huge fan and tht was the reason for the movie to be hit…..Similarly,sometime movies are made quite ahead of their time which may not work in boxoffice ie.Andaz apna apna(If this movie was released at this time,surely it will be biggest hit)
Hindi movies is all about the big star playing in it..Y actor like SRK,salman,hrithik,aamir,akshay collected big amount of money at boxoffice..Because of star power…Salman khan was having criticize but after wanted everything is going all right but Now,AKshay kumar will have same problem if his movie BLUE will flopped .But His star power will be same
