A year after Dhoom 3, Aamir Khan has once again taken the box office by storm with his latest release PK. The film has not only performed well at the domestic box-office, but has also opened to outstanding numbers overseas.
There was a time, not too long ago, when Salman was the king in India, while Shahrukh Khan ruled overseas. But with Dhoom 3 and PK, Aamir has taken it to a different level altogether – what with the trade talking about his Ghajini and 3 Idiots days.
Dhoom 3 vs PK
Aamir has also been responsible for giving the industry every landmark – he was the founder of the 100 crore club, 200 crore club and now PK looks set to cross 300 crore at the box office. If 3 Idiots was the first to cross 150 crore, Dhoom 3 was the first film to do 250.
It will be interesting to follow the day-wise comparison between Dhoom 3 and PK, because, if the Rajkumar Hirani film has to cross the 300 crore mark, it has to trend better than Dhoom 3.
In 5 days, Dhoom 3 was about 10% ahead with total collections of around Rs 149.46 crore (including Tamil and Telugu versions). PK has collected 135.28 crore.

Recently Watched the movie “pk” as always hirani always comes through with his brand of beautiful cinema ,a wonderful and endearing movie,have always enjoyed his movies.As usual amir engages us in an unusual and wonderful way,hats off to the cast and crew,once again ,for wholesome and “paisa vasool ” entertainment.
movie like pk now challenge for aamir himself to have better story than that in pk in future however pk must cross 300crore

@pk rancho,you said wrong completely.salman’s entire decade gone failure whether worked with friends or with other directors.only one thing saved him that is south remake in bhojpuri versions.but KING KHAN never did films with any friends apart from Farah khan.BTW HE didn’t gave bunch of flops even in HIS weakest periods.that’s why HE IS THE KING.films run after HIS NAME.BTW MNIK would have earn even more if it would have release in at least one of many holiday even semi holiday but it is a purest non holiday February release that non of our country’s director/star can do with their ambitious project.only two is there KJO and KING KHAN who made it success.so get your facts right.one thing you should remember still I can say dhoom3 WW record is safe and KING KHAN is the only one who will break it and HE us not a competitor because HE is above all.

@sky,when I said that,why you’re making your thinking as our statement?Raju Hirani is far better director than Rohit shetty.Raju is my 5th favourite director in the industry after YASHJI,ADITYA CHOPRA,KJO,ASUTOSH GOWARIKOR.because they are the directors of TRUE CLASSIC.while Raju Hirani movies are less about class than mass appeal I mean he can balance well between class and mass ,HE needs a ACTOR of his caliber like KING SRK which he choosed 1at but can’t get,that’s my biggest sorrowness remained forever so that Mr.opportunist got another luck after lagaan.whatever HE is today only because of KING KHAN.

@khan,I can say prabhu deva and others like salman khan ruined masala genre completely.ROHIT SHETTY is the masala comedy director the entire industry has.Farah is the similar to Rohit type director who already gave two rememberable film MHN,OSO in which she tried her after that she ruined herself.however HNY saved her career after that I hope ahe will make even more good films like MHN/OSO.and the films that you mentioned are below 90’s and that era had already gone and so it’s director even David dhawan also is making crap films now a days,lol.

What have kJO or Yash chopra done in their life? KJO is successful only and only because of SRk. Farah and KJO have done nothing but project Srk the way his fans love him to see. The same charming college boy who romances, makes you laugh or cry.
Take Srk out of equation and kJO and farah are big fat zeros. Yash chopra is nothing compared to brilliant Hrishikesh Mukherjee. While chopra did same old romantic works which are now being done by his and kJO production, hrishikesh mukherjee was the true game changer.
You may like their rubbish films, but I have a better taste. And I’m no pro aamir. I dare to call his super successful films like Fanna and Dhoom 3 as foolish mess. The only game changers by yash raj productions in recent times are Chak De India and Rocket Singh. And I know a fool like you will never appreciate a well made Rocket singh. Instead you’d praise a caricature called My Name is Khan.
I’d bet my soul that srk’s fan will be YRF’s next game changer. It’d be zillion times better than MNIK. I go by directors not actors.
