Celebrating the 14th anniversary ‘Devdas’, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has said the film will always remain special to him. He thanked the director of the film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and the “beautiful ladies” (Madhuri Dixit Nene and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan).
“‘Devdas’ will always be special. Thank you Bhansali.. the beautiful ladies and everyone. Late nights, long shoots and so much love” Khan tweeted.
Shah Rukh played the iconic character of Devdas, a character written by Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay in his 1917 novel ‘Devdas’. He was only 17 years old when he wrote the novel.
As many as 16 feature film adaptions have been made on the novel. Two of them are hugely popular. Bimal Roy’s 1955 film Devdas starring Dilip Kumar in the lead, a film that remains a classic nearly 61 years after its release. And Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s adaptation of ‘Devdas’ starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the role of Paro, Devdas’s love interest and Madhuri Dixit Nene as Chandramukhi, a courtesan who falls in love with Devdas.

You never post anything related to Aamir moviesm how much does srk pay to your site? All of them were far better than this so called classic which is nothing but a romantic movie. I m proud srkian. An actor like srk born once in a century. Devedas is one of my favorite movies and srk’s performance was legendary.
The psycho duo Navin and Chuhe are barking about acting. Being a Lallu fan it’s such a ironic situation that they judge SRK’s acting when Lallu has given iconic performances like Marigold, Main aur Mrs Khanna, SHadi karge phas gaya LoL and the list goes on and on.
On a different note, SRK you make us so proud when you do unforgettable classics like this with you phenomenal acting. What’s the point of doing films like HNY and Ra-One? Your classic films and legendary acting is forever treasur for SRK fans.
All the people are going gaga over devdas and repeating the same line “the movie being remembered even after 14 years.” What’s the big deal with it???
They might forgotten that Maya Memsaab is being remembered even after 20 years for introducing C grade movies!!! YLJK will be remembered until Qiyamat as the lowest grosser of the decade cum century!!!
