Celebrating the 14th anniversary ‘Devdas’, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has said the film will always remain special to him. He thanked the director of the film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and the “beautiful ladies” (Madhuri Dixit Nene and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan).
“‘Devdas’ will always be special. Thank you Bhansali.. the beautiful ladies and everyone. Late nights, long shoots and so much love” Khan tweeted.
Shah Rukh played the iconic character of Devdas, a character written by Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay in his 1917 novel ‘Devdas’. He was only 17 years old when he wrote the novel.
As many as 16 feature film adaptions have been made on the novel. Two of them are hugely popular. Bimal Roy’s 1955 film Devdas starring Dilip Kumar in the lead, a film that remains a classic nearly 61 years after its release. And Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s adaptation of ‘Devdas’ starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the role of Paro, Devdas’s love interest and Madhuri Dixit Nene as Chandramukhi, a courtesan who falls in love with Devdas.

1) SRK can not be compared to your crap marigold actor. He has his own class and his only league
2) The only way we can compare srk with salman is by box office which is narrow way to compare actors.
How the hell can we compare an actor who did darr, KKHH,KKKG,Mohabatein,DDLJ,CDI,MNIK with Marigold actress. HOW???
3)We can’t appreciate all movies. We only appreciate classic ones. Do you expect an article on anniversary of marigold or that main or Mrs some thing.

Must say SRK is the only actor who played two iconic roles (Devdas and Don) of two iconic acting legends (Dilip shb and Big B) and did a wonderful job which is surely an achievement. Not daring to compare him and saying he is equal to those two veteran super stars and acting legends but SRK for me is their true heir.
One of the best act of SRK.. But here problem is ther are many act of SRK that we call one of the best.. Love u SRK.
No actor of bollywood has delivered as many classics as SRK has. His films have been both classic and box office gem. All though I liked Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Chennai Express, Don 2 and Fan among his recent flicks, still I wish he had done more classics like Devdas. Such beautiful acting, I will never forget his performance in this movie in my lifetime.

@ Javed at 2:58 pm : Agreed. Same feelings here about Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na being one of his best works. Acting wise it is one of his best performances (as there are other candidates also like CDI, MNIK, Swades, Devdas, etc) but movie wise I consider it to be his best movie.
And also SRK, Ajay and Amir being ahead of others in my list too when it comes to acting skills.

chak de swades devdas mohabbatein veer zara raju ban gaya gentleman all are gem…regardless the box office numbers and even all are blockbuster in that era even if release today it will reach to ATBB.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali had given him the beautiful Devdas. But a few years later he clashes with a SLB movie (BM). Never witnessed such a namakharam guy!!!
No denying that the movie was a good one…especially the songs, grandeur sets, Madhuri & Aish’s dance moves. But srk had destroyed the the legacy of original (Dilip Saab’s) Devdas with his overacting..
