Dear Zindagi has shown excellent growth on its second day, collecting Rs 11.25 crore at the box office on Saturday. The growth in business is around 28% from Friday, which is better than most films that have released this year.
Growth from Friday to Saturday of films that showed good trend this year:
- Pink – 77%
- Neerja – 62%
- Dear Zindagi – 28%
- Rustom – 16%
- Airlift – 18%
- Ki and Ka – 15%
The growth that ‘Dear Zindagi’ has shown is probably the best of the year so far, because Pink and Neerja did not take a big enough initial because it did not feature a major bankable star.
The level of business in the first two days is similar to Alia Bhatt’s last film ‘Udta Punjab’, which collected Rs 10.05 crore on Friday, 11.25 crore on Saturday and 12.5 crore on Sunday. The first weekend business of the two films could be similar. Monday will decide where the film is doing, as Udta Punjab collected 4.5 crore on Monday and finished with lifetime business of 60 crore.

Watched Dear Zindagi today.. Honestly its a very good movie.. Gauri Sindhe’s direction is brilliant… Alia is getting better by her each movie… And SRK the superstar is in backseat & its the return of SRK the actor.. I just loved the movie… From my side its 8/10

Alia is awesome. 100% all awards are in her kitty this year. Well, SRK is in his real charismatic avatar. SRK’s character has brought so much positivity in the movie. Can’t imagine this movie without him. Superbly done SRK.

actually the film opened to low 8.75 crore net because the trailer gave an impression that it is a srk film. then after the release of the film when people came to know that srk is playing only a 20-30 minute role they became so happy that the word of mouth became positive itself and the collection jumped to double digit on day2.
so the message is always make a film with srk where he has a 20-30 minute role, it will make people happy and give the film positive word of mouth.

Are bhai Salman ke fans ke iq itna kam kiu hota hai,I guess for their idol.DZ collecting 11.25crs on 2nd day is impressive.It has shown good growth and considering the fact it has released in 1200 screens and its an Alia film with SRK playing a 25min cameo in the film,its a pretty good collections.I hav watched it fdfs and the fim DZ is not upto the mark.Its only for SRK DZ is collecting this much.

First of all, it is because everybody knows what really happened on the day 1 of HNY. Sab jaante hai, par khullum khalla bolna nahin chaahte!
Besides, HNY was a multi-starrer including someone like Deepika. And Salman ensures huge openings for his films consistently. Hope you get it now.
