Dabangg 2 has collected approximately Rs 19.5 – 20 crore on it’s first day at the domestic box office. The film opened to an extraordinary response for the morning shows, but with Friday being a working day, afternoon and evening shows had lower occupancy.
For a non-holiday opening day, these are outstanding figures. Way ahead of the previous best first day figures of Rowdy Rathore and Don 2.
Dabangg 2 is likely to peak on Saturday night and put up record-breaking numbers on Sunday. The film will also benefit from the national holiday for Christmas on Tuesday.
We expect the first 3 day weekend to be around 67 crore nett. If the film sustains well at the box office on Monday, it’s likely to cross the 100 crore mark on Tuesday.

I doubt it flop. Worst case scenario 120-130 crores . But Salman has not even canned a shot for a another film meaning now he can pick up some good scripts .

Don 2 relesed on a working day ,no item number,no masala action ,800 screens lesser then dabbang 2 collected around 15 cr and Dabbang collected 19.5 cr….i agree with some people saying give 3500 screens to emraan hasmi and any brand name he will also cross 15 cr …so,whats make dabaang 2 great??? nothing … watched first day night show with half filled theater and story is nowhere near dabaang ….some part looks alike … my BO prediction went right with Talaash and Khiladi 786 after seeing their first day show and collection lets see what happen’s this time,so, my box office prediction for dabbang 2 is here:-
First of all salman rocks in 1 thing for sure ,his relese date of the films as the next big relese is on 25th of jan thats race 2 but in between there are many multiplex films relesing like 4th jan rajdhani express,table no 21, on 11th jan matru ki bijli ka mandola,4 2 ka 1 and on 18th Inkaar,now why did i mentioned it becoz all this r multiplex films and they will crunch Dabbang 2 as its already looks like rejected in multiplex but still it will have a clear run for atleast 2-3 weeks which means 20 days at par and it includes 2 major holidays like 25th dec and 1st jan so lets look at the possible collection:-
senario 1:
If good WOM and Salman power works then the first day 19 cr ,first weekend (sat-sun) 40-45 cr total=65 cr max,weekdays (mon to thursday) 40-50 cr, total first week 100-110 cr max not more.
second weekend(fri-sun)=25-30 cr weekdays 20-30 cr ,so, second week total=50-60 cr
third week total 20-30 cr
rest 10-20 cr,so total lifetime in best conditions would be not more then (average of all)105+55+25+10=190 to 200 cr but mark my words no possibility of crossing “3 idiots” in best possible ways even,so ATBB with lifetime 190 cr+ but “3 idiots” still remains cham and will remain forever.
senario 2:
This is the most possible senario seeing the movie trend’s :
First weekend (fri-sunday) 19+20+21=60+ cr weekdays 30+ cr total=90+ cr
second weekend 25-30 cr weekdays 15-20 cr=40+ cr
3rd week and rest=20+ cr
total=90+40+20=150-160 cr lifetime(bodyguard trends) and this is the best outcome just wait and see i may be wrong as well.
senario 3:
This can’t happen even if it happen’s the first week will make the recovery as all salman films do and fall’s badly from second week but less holidays,no eid or ramzaan and over hyped factor will affect it
first weekend (fri to sunday) 19+19+19 to 21 cr max=55-60 cr weekday(will fall badly but still will pick on 25th but limited) 25-30 cr max
second week:(multiplex will rule it out and single screens will also underperform ex:khiladi 786,SOS etc) 30+ cr( it’s still high as no other relese)
thirs week:(new releses and multiplex has a bond only for 2 weeks) 15-20 cr maxxx
rest weeks:(good new releses and matru ki bijli ka mandola is a single screen film as well) 10-15 cr
So, total:-55+25(1st weekend and weekdays)+32+18+13= 143-150 max lifetime
So,In any case its bigger then dabbang but lesser then ETT,we can say it under performed if it dosent cross 150 cr but hopefully it will and with 3500 screens,dabbang tredmark,classy item numbers(this time 2 of them),roof top action,masala contain (its the trend today) and SALMAN KHAN we expect a lot more and few saying 300 cr and breaking “3 idiots” record but folks we need to wait much and much longer as it seems impossible right now. audience response for dabbang 2 is not good with 2 hrs picture high ticket price this is not a good collection ..word of mouth this film is not good both in audience and critic…arbaz just mess up all the thing..all thing even song look carbon copy of dabbang..nothing new to watch
