From Kashmir all the way down to Kanyakumari, Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express is on a record-breaking spree across the country. The morning shows and noon shows on Sunday were on-par or better at places compared to Friday.
The film is outstanding in circuits like Tamilnadu/Kerala, Mysore, West Bengal and Mumbai. Major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Noida, Kolkata are recording exceptionally good occupancy between 85 – 95% throughout the day.
Chennai Express should comfortably cross the 30 crore mark and now has a good chance of joining the ‘100 crore club’ today. The record for the ‘Highest Sunday Collections’ in 2013 is currently held by Ranbir Kapoor’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (22.5 crore). Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2 with 23 crores on Sunday holds the overall record. Both are likely to be history tomorrow.
The Post-Eid period is proving to be one of the biggest holiday seasons for the film industry. Every film that has released in the last 4 years – Dabangg, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and now Chennai Express – have taken record-shattering starts.
UPDATE 8PM Update: Sunday collections are likely to be in excess of Rs 32 crore. Usually, Business does tend to drop during the night shows as Monday is a working day. So far though, it has been a super Sunday in every circuit across India.

All srk fans : There is no reason for Salman fans to be jealous. Salman has done it not once but numerous times. srk have done it for first time (about records with so many screen for paid preview and release that too solo and price hike in tickets), so enjoy it. First of all srk waited for Salman, there was no salman release hence EKTA booked OUATIMD for Eid release an year ago, srk beg Jitu sir for solo release. This record credit alone does not go to srk instead some favours and good deeds played major role.
One of the most awaited film of SRK from 2011, the film collected 67.92 cr in just two days . Now it proves that srk is the king of king

For Jab Tak Hai Jaan you were not Quoting Producer Numbers (According to Producers it did 125 Corers, but you said it did 101 Corers and was disappointing/Under-performer, etc) & suddenly for Chennai Express you are Quoting Producer Numbers. Why?
