From Kashmir all the way down to Kanyakumari, Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express is on a record-breaking spree across the country. The morning shows and noon shows on Sunday were on-par or better at places compared to Friday.
The film is outstanding in circuits like Tamilnadu/Kerala, Mysore, West Bengal and Mumbai. Major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Noida, Kolkata are recording exceptionally good occupancy between 85 – 95% throughout the day.
Chennai Express should comfortably cross the 30 crore mark and now has a good chance of joining the ‘100 crore club’ today. The record for the ‘Highest Sunday Collections’ in 2013 is currently held by Ranbir Kapoor’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (22.5 crore). Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2 with 23 crores on Sunday holds the overall record. Both are likely to be history tomorrow.
The Post-Eid period is proving to be one of the biggest holiday seasons for the film industry. Every film that has released in the last 4 years – Dabangg, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and now Chennai Express – have taken record-shattering starts.
UPDATE 8PM Update: Sunday collections are likely to be in excess of Rs 32 crore. Usually, Business does tend to drop during the night shows as Monday is a working day. So far though, it has been a super Sunday in every circuit across India.

Shah Rukh Khan was never eager to enter into this shit called 100 crs or 200 crs club so he did varieties of roles and never compromised on his stature by doing cheap south remakes and cashing on it and some fools took it as if he is finished now . first of all congrats to srk and Rohit shetty for those records it created barring opening day collection because i know for film publicity utv will definately announce collection more than ETT and it happened as per BOI its 29.2 cr as against ETT 30.5cr when BOI given update of ETT first day collection of ETT was 31.25 cr but as real data recieved it was 30.5 cr so admit is as same similarly when ce actuals recd than it will below 29 cr so no reason to rejoice as first day record not broken, i never take official figure irrespective who is the star of the movie, 2nd thing if this kind of 3 holiday back to back given to any Salman starrer than it will definately ahead what srk did even srk fans knows that if this weekend is given to srk than result will definately better than CE, 2nd thing Rohit was the major part of this success i remeber my freinds saying that its rohit movie so will definately see that because rohit made his image of a director who can entertain hugely

I saw this movie on Friday, 1st show, and and I enjoyed every single second of 2.30 hrs. The movie provide you all the fun which you look specially on festival like eid…SRK is the best of all.
last few years srk just experimented with his character in different roles..mnik, ra.1, don2,jab tak hai jann..never concentrate on boxoffice business..thats y all films are did not make profit as expected..no one in Bollywood have guts to show this kind of versatility..all salman, akshay,ajay just did work as per box office required..same kind of movie..same kind of action..same kind of police wala gunda or southindian remake..action.action.action..and less fun, much action..they dont have guts to follow which srk did..srk is true king of bollywood as per acting and now business..not only in india, he the is king of worldwide..a global superstar..hats off SRK.

I am sure chennai express life time cord will be broken by dhoom 3 and krissh 3 but if chennai express achieves 100 cores in 3 days then that is one record which no movie will bak cos to bak that u need an average of 50 cores each day for the first 2 days which honestly and practically is not possible in the short future maybe 10 years down the line when ticket prices increase

go to BOI the first day collection is lower then ETT second thing ETT was released in Ramzan period,CE is released on high numbers of screens plus the ticket price is high, moreover all SRK fans wait for CE life time collection then start to talk like gentlemen.
