After all the euphoria following the release of Chennai Express last weekend, its time for the most dreaded day in movie business – FIRST MONDAY. A day that more often than not decides a films fate the box office. After all, for a film like Chennai Express, Monday would decide if the film has any chance of crossing the magical 202 crore figure set by 3 Idiots way back in 2009.
So, has the film sustained well on the Monday? Good news is, it has. The drops are normal all over. The occupancy for the morning shows was around 30-35%, which is pretty decent for Monday.
All India drop from Friday seems to be around 50-55%, which would mean Monday collections of around 13-14 crore.
Ticket prices are usually slashed during the weekdays, but given the response that Chennai Express has received over the weekend, a few exhibitors have decided not to reduce ticket prices today. Tickets are still selling for weekend rates, or a little cheaper. For example, prices were hiked from Rs 150 to Rs 200 per ticket at a BIG Cinemas multiplex for Chennai Express last weekend. Today, a ticket is being sold for Rs 180, which is slightly lower than the weekend rates, but still higher than what was charged for normal non-holiday releases.

think YJHD non holiday monday should break by CE, as per ETT monday collection this is not easy.
i wonders fans are bashing BOI report while it was unbiased because the Distributer share which was declared by BOI is the Same as declared by officials, so collection might be less and more but final faith i.e. distributer share is remain Same.
like ETT — 199 cr official , BOI- 186 cr but distributer share by Boi and officails are aroung 103-104 cr.

@boss, ouatimd is less than a week for release and we have almost no articles about it, its all chennai express everywhere. ekta kapoor is the real culprit by agreeing to postpone the release, postponing has 80% benefits for ce and 20% for ouatimd. clash would have favored ouatimd more.

A. Those figures are impossible. Its looking around 6 crore from its release. If it manages to get more shows than expected right now it could go a bit higher but its not going anywhere close to 15 crore.
