Chennai Express has collected Rs 8.51 crore on its 9th day at the box office, with fantastic growth in business across all circuits. The film has shattered all previous box-office records in the south. In Tamilnadu/Kerala and Nizam circuit, Chennai Express is now the highest grossing film of all time.
With Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara crashing at the box office on its third day, there are reports that exhibitors are planning to reduce the shows of the film from Monday, and increasing the shows of Chennai Express at multiplexes.
The cumulative total of Chennai Express now stands at Rs 171.7 crore. The film is likely to collect around Rs 10-12 crore on Sunday, and should cross the 200 crore mark in its third week at the box office.

CHENNAI EXPRESS Crosses New Milestones
“Chennai Express” continuing its dream run at box office and film is now in most crucial phase as it is now on the brink of history. Film has crossed few more milestones in last two days.
Film crossed 300 cr gross worldwide on 2nd Saturday and by end of today film has collected 328 cr worldwide. Now film has crossed 307 cr of YJHD and 321 cr of “Ek tha Tiger”. Film is now chasing 385 cr worldwide gross of “3 Idiots”. Film has outside chance of breaking this all elusive figure.
Today again film started with 35% occupancy and by evening film was in full form with 65% plus occupancy. Film was benefited by lukewarm response of OUATIMD and it seems that film will post big Sunday. “Chennai Express” scored big in Mysore, Hyderabad, Bihar and Mumbai.
As per early estimates, film should collect 11.40 cr nett today which means film has collected 26 cr nett over weekend. Film should collect big 42 cr nett in 2nd week including big holiday on Tuesday (Rakhi). Film has collected 183 cr nett in 10 days and now film is really threatening lifetime figure of “3 Idiots”.

CHENNAI EXPRESS Is Set To Break Among All Time Top 3 In Overseas
“Chennai Express” has performed as per expectations in overseas market. If it is a SRK starrer there is no way a film can go wrong in overseas market as he single handedly dominates the market.
Film collected more than 52 cr in 1st weekend and by end of 1st week film collected close to 71 cr. Now film needs another 7-8 cr to surpass SRK”s last year release JTHJ in order to become 3rd highest ever grosser Bollywood film overseas and that should happen by end of today.
Film should collect 100 cr nett by end of its run which will be a huge figure.
i think the final collections of CE will be around 190-195cr as per BOI..and 205-210 as per other sites so BOI will say its the second biggest grosser of all time and others will say it has beaten 3Idiots record!
anyway the film is sure to beat ETT and this is an achievement itself as CE is first film of SRK to cross 120cr..130cr..140cr..150cr..160cr..170cr..180cr..190cr..and also only SRK and AAMIR are 200cr members now (if CE crosses 200cr) and awaiting for others to join..sure Hrithik has KRRISH3 and Salman has Mental Kick so any right film in right release time can reach 200cr! fingers crossed!
