Karan Malhotra’s second film ‘Brothers’ is out of most theatres in its third week at the box office. The film performed well in its first weekend at the box office, during which it collected Rs 52.08 crore.
Since then, the Akshay Kumar – Sidharth Malhotra starrer hasn’t even doubled its first weekend collections, which is usually a sign that the content hasn’t found appreciation amongst the audience.
Brothers will be a loss-making film for Dharma Productions and Akshay’s lowest grosser of 2015 after Baby and Gabbar Is Back.

People are saying he should not do 4 films a year..
He did only 2 films in 2014 — Holiday and Entertainment and both opened below expectation.
So,this theory of doing more films a year is rubbish,he’s doing so many films since early in his career coz he did’nt had the backing which Khans had. Salman had Rajshri,Mukta arts ,SRK had yrf/dharma,Aamir had his uncle’s backing.
Check their records without them in 90s,it is’nt great either.All have delivered flops.
In 2010,Akki had 4 releases.Out of that Housefull was the second biggest opener of all time only behind 3 idiots. Then in dec., TMK was the 3rd biggest opener of all time behind 3 idiots and Dabangg.
So if at that time out of 4 releases,2 can open so huge..why can’t now?
And Brothers’ opening was sufficient enough to make it a hit at the boxoffice,even with average WOM film should have easily crossed 100crs but the WOM was terrible and I don’t think Akki can do anything for that,he could only perform in the film which he did and got unanimous praise all over for his act.
How does Akshay manage to do 4 films a year easily when others dont get enough time for one?? Hrithik and Aamir struggle to get even 2 films in 3 years!! Both dont have any releases in 2015 and Akshay has 10 films lined up. Don’t know how this works :|

when other superstars are giving 200 300 crores easily akki is stuggling to give even a 100 crore grosser. when other superstars are giving 30 plus 40 plus single day with or without holidays akki is giving 20cr that too on the biggest holiday of the year. we are now moving towards 400 crores and akki is still stuck at 60 70 80 crores. when other superstars are getting verdict like blockbuster and all time blockbuster akki is stuck at flop average. what kind of superstar is he?

There were few temporary stars like sarookh, akshay, sunny, hrithik who came and gone, but Salmir have always remained in top and still ruling.
