The craze the film has managed to generate is tremendous, and the demand for tickets in advance has further encouraged the trade into believing that the film has every chance of breaking opening day records.
The early reports from those who have already seen the film is excellent, but then there has never been any big film carrying negative pre-release reports in the era of social media.

After the initial euphoria, it will all boil down to the content. If Happy New Year is as entertaining as Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Naa or Shahrukh’s last release Chennai Express, then expect records to be broken left, right and centre. After all, when Chennai Express ended its run, it was the highest grosser in India as well as the first film to cross 400 crore worldwide.
