A. It’s funny how people throw around these numbers. Only one film in the history of Indian Cinema has crossed 300 crore and it took nearly 3 open weeks (without any other major release) to do so.
Q. Shahrukh, Aamir, Salman.. who is the best actor and who is Indicine biased towards?
A. Irrfan Khan.
Q. Can Avengers 2 break the record created by Furious 7 in Indian Box Office?
A. It will be difficult. ‘Fast and Furious’ is a popular franchise in India and the emotion around Paul Walker’s unfortunate and untimely death, helped the film big time.
Q. Can you tell me 11 day total box office collection of ‘Gabbar Is Back’?
A. We do not have astrologers in our team. Yes, #IndicineFBO has been accurately predicting opening day collections, but that involves a lot of research.
Q. Who has a better comic timing? Aamir or Akshay? I like both of them but still want to know your opinion.
A. We’d pick Akshay Kumar. He’s been terrific in comedy films. Loved Aamir in films like Andaz Apna Apna and Ishq too.
Q. What maybe the saturation level at which the number of screens stop increasing?
A. India is a huge country and we are one of the most under-screened countries in the world! United States has 129 screens per million, Europe has around 42 per million and India only has about 13 screens per million people. About 150-200 new screens are coming up every year, so the screen count should continue to increase!
Q. Did Aamir Khan deserved the Best Actor award for following films… Ghajni (Hrithik- Jodha Akbar), 3 Idiots (Amitabh- Paa), PK (Shahid- Haider)?
A. Aamir was absolutely brilliant in PK. Flawless performance. Award-deserving for sure, but Shahid was terrific in Haider too.
Q. Why don’t Bollywood big stars and big production houses try a hand at horror flicks?
A. Horror films have a very limited market in India. The biggest of horror blockbusters had to sell sex to do well at mass centres.
Q. Which film out of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dilwale, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is biggest contender of highest grosser of the year?
A. On paper, Dilwale is easily the biggest film. Huge star cast, Rohit Shetty as director, universal appeal and best release period of the year.
Q. What things would add up for making Bombay Velvet’s opening huge?
A. Nothing from what we have seen so far, trailers and promos haven’t worked. But Bombay Velvet should still take a decent opening because of Ranbir Kapoor.

Gabbar is back will struggled to collect 100cr as far as I think after its trailer and songs and I am talking trade figures not officials.
When it comes to comedy Akshay is ahead than Aamir but Aamir has fantastic comic timing you can see with films like AAA,Ishq,RDB,3i and Pk.
As Aamir not attend awards so it should not be much important to Aamir fans.Aamir deserved best actor award for 3i and Pk.Aamir was also great as Sanjay singhania but JA was period film who had immense success so Hrithik performance was more deserving. Big b in paa was out of world but in Popular category its Aamir all the way, 3i wasn’t a ordinary film neither Aamir performance (it is Aamir most underrated performance, the film won’t be even half of success if Aamir wasn’t lead) and in PK Aamir is better than Shahid.
Aamir too deserved for RDB over hrithik dhoom 2.
Its Salman who gonna deliver highest grosser of the year with BB or PRDP.Srk topped with Dilwale in overseas.Battle will be for worldwide mark.Its funny to see when Indicine saying Christmas is best period to release it may for overseas but don’t for India,the kind of cold happening in north India which affecting Morning and night shows collection.Also one has guts to release movie one week earlier than Christmas like Aamir and production team had with D3 and PK.Srk will run for opening weekend record that too with fudge figures after than Diwale falters at bo. Srk 3rd consecutive masala film.ROFL.
BV will be open above 10cr + only because of rk star power otherwise BV won’t gonna cross 80cr in lifetime (may be if content is well received by audience).
@ lisa, i think you are incorrect, Welcome also released alongwith taare zameen pe during Christmas and it collected way more than TZP and was blockbuster, i agree that content matters, however, crap masala entertainers like welcome, HNY, Chennai express, rowdy rathore, singham returns etc etc also work. Also tees maar khan that was released during christmas had a record opening weekend and fuzzled out after that, still it is considered as semi hit

Dangal is a Christmas release and Aamir last 4 holiday release Ghajini,3i,d3,pk all were all time grosser, you should worry than Dangal won’t join the same league that last 4 have.

@javed unlike SRK who called Rohit shetty to make a film with him, Yrf contacted Aamir that they want to cast him in dhoom franchise, moreover Talaash released in Nov 2012, while Dhoom 3 was signed by Aamir in Jan 2011, you can Google yourself.So I don’t think Aamir need dhoom 3 for his career, the guy had delivered 4 all time grosser in his last 4 holiday release unlike srk who had just a single blockbuster among his last 5 holiday release. Srk postponed Fan just to make way for Diwale.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is easily the Biggest Grosser of this year considering : Salman Bhai’s Popularity and Superstardom , Salman and Sooraj Barjatya combo of giving record breaking Blockbuster films in the past (Hum Aapke Hain Koun , Maine Pyar Kiya , Hum Saath Saath Hain , etc ………… , Salman Bhai’s return to his most famous onscreen name Prem (more popular than SRK’s Raj) . PRDP , will also be a 200% surviving and reinventing of Sonam Kapoor in her otherwise flop Bollywood career where she can give Jacqueline , Shraddha , Katrina , Deepika , Alia , and Kriti a run for their money whereas as far as Armaan Kohli and Neil Nitin Mukesh are concerned they will surely get 2-3 films in a year considering of both of them starring opposite Salman Bhai , Bollywood’s currently No.1 Superstar.
