- EID: Ek Tha Tiger was the only major release during the EID weekend. The film starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, released on 3300 screens in India.
- Diwali: Witnessed the clash between SRK and Katrina’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar. The two films combined released on 4500 screens in India.
- Christmas: Once again a solo release for Salman Khan and the widest release for a single film – Dabangg 2 also starring Sonakshi Sinha released on 3500 screens.

GOOD NEWS FOR SALMAN FANS It was an ambitious experiment by organisers Creative Hub Eventsto bring the current box office ruler Salman Khan and his lady ofchoice Priyanka Chopra to the shores of UAE to celebrate the National Day at the Dubai Festival City.
Unluckily, what was expected to be roaring hit fell a little flat. The auditorium that had a capacity of18,000 and was expected to house that many on the special night of December 2, had only 7000 odd people cheering for the actors.When contacted, Fatima Hayat, CEO of Creative Hub Events told us,”Yes, it’s a shocker.Salman, Priyanka and the others (Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Zarine Khan) could definitely have pulledit off much better.”
According to an official from the events company (who requested for anonymity),the response at the ticket windows was disheartening. While that could also have been because of the exhorbitant pricing of AED 6000 (INR 75000) per stub,the official blamed it on ‘lack of caution’.
“We tried every trick in the book to reach out to people but failed. Wewish we had paid heed to some of our well wishers who had warned us not to have the show on such a large canvas,” the official added.
Salman’s last show in Dubai was organised right after “Wanted” hitthe theatres in 2009. And reportedly, that wasn’t a money churner either.”The guy who organised the show hails from south India and has vowed neverto visit Dubai again. However, wethought that after his recent string of blockbusters -“Dabangg”, “Ready”,”Bodyguard”,”Ek Tha Tiger”, Salman’s 2012 show would be a runaway success,”the official said.
Apparently, despite asking Salman to spend more time on stage and word of mouth publicity of the show, the ticket sales failed to pick up. “We are still looking for answers,” said the official.

I agree that the only record there is left for Salman to beat is that of Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots.
But as it is highly unlikely for D2 to beat it, I don’t think Salman is going to beat it as he is not going to get another chance since there is currently no film of his scheduled to be released next year.
So this proves there is high chance for Hrithik (K3), Shahrukh (CE) or maybe again Aamir (D3) to beat 3 Idiot’s record in next year, and as well as every other record that exist.
