42 films have crossed the 100 crore mark at the domestic (India) box office and a majority of those major grossers have featured bankable male stars in the lead. The only exceptions are Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Grand Masti – both of which were sequels to successful films.
So it’s quite clear that the Hindi film industry is not only male-dominated, but is also almost entirely star-driven.
Salman Khan, over the last few years, has been a mini industry. Since the second half of 2010, every single film featuring the megastar in the lead, has crossed the 100 crore mark. He leads the second best (Shah Rukh Khan) by a margin of 3 films.
Ajay Devgn has 5 major grossers, while the founder of the 100 crore crore club, Aamir Khan has 4 films – tied with Akshay Kumar for the fourth spot.
Hrithik Roshan has three films. He’s followed by the younger generation of actors – Ranveer, Ranveer and Varun have two 100 crore grossers each. John also has two 100 crore films, but both were multi-starrers. Arjun, Farhan, Sidharth and Saif have one each.

For me the outstanding highlights falls on Salman khan. Extraordinary achievement.
Out of words. A true Megastar that’s all I can say.
Aamir Khan founder, creator and record breaker. His few films strategy has made him on no 2 spot if not both Salman and Aamir are true Legends of present era.
Ajay Devgn. Not a big fan of him but arguably the biggest non Khan in the industry today. He is not consistent not social networking friendly but on his day he is unmatchable to any of the non khan’s. 3/5 non Edx, Golmaal 3 was a record breaker then he is the 3rd superstar in this respected league. Master
Hrithik Roshan. My favourite, the non Edx specialist. People call him Papa boy. Papa boy but look at his career. Outstanding from knph overnight superstar. His upcoming movie will be on its league of its own. Tough competition from Dangal and Sultan may be Shivaay but I see it grosser 230 above. His actually suppose to have 4 100 cr had Singham 2011 not released and appreciated Znmd was strolling to 100 cr but am not worried. The next megastar after Salmir.
Shah Rukh no doubt has the fan base,the popularity both home and international. He has an outstanding 6 100 c movies. Should have had one more with Fan. Poor choice of scripts has been the main obstacle of this once upon a time megastar. Salmir has gone some extra distance let’s hope Raees can bring back the Srk we all knew.
Ranbir Akshay Ranveer have done some good business at box office especially Akshay a superstar that makes exhibitors smile always. Their contribution to the movie industry has been appreciated alot especially among their large fan base. Also congratulations to Young Varun Arjun Sidharth.

*I believe people are just blaming Indicine blindly. Agreed Abhishek deserves an entry in that list if Varun can be added for Dilwale. I am suprised seeing Varun name in the list for Dilwale to be candid. He was ignored in BB Dhoom 3 HNY because those movies had superstars who are beasts in their movie even if it’s 30mins role they have. Barring exceptional circumstances like working under your production house or doing a film for friendship sake on recommendation like Dhobi G, Rajneeti,TZP. You just can’t overshadow a Aamir Ajay SRK except you are Salman khan and probably Shri Amitabh Sir ji. Abhishek did justice to all those 3 movies confidently and deserve a slot on the top list.
*Next point is on John Abraham name being included on Race 2 and Housefull 2.
Now I have to be very frank and remove sentiments. Race 2 had Saif in the lead Housefull 2 had Akshay in the lead. Unfortunately among the top superstars of today no actor has acted and had successful verdicts in Multicasts movies than Akshay and Saif. Not until mid 90s all their 1st hit movies were multicasts after years of attempts Mohra MKTA. Critically looking at 2000s many of Saif-Akki movies were hit but multicasts. Akki long awaited hit after years of barrenness was Garam masala with same John. Welcome Bbb hey baby Sik Msk etc just to name few. No doubts Akshay is a fantastic actor but a king of multicasts. So it’s very easy for any movie site to recognize John Abraham as a strong member of Housefull 2. Saif too its easy to call Race 2 both of their movies.
* Conclusion is getting applauds in a movie having a aamir Srk ajay is worth being rewarded & noticed. Getting praises in a movie having Akshay sir in is really nothing new. So for me my list will be

With due respect, the stardom of Srk should never be a topic. He has achieved alot that had he wanted he would be living a largess lifestyle and ignore the movie industry. May be of recent as @Legend pointed out his script selection was not too good but you can’t ignore the massive inputs in his name @ d box office.
I am a big fan of Salman too. U and I know that out of 9 releases Salman has only 1 non Edx. Ofcourse he can still make those figures on non Edx. Aamir has no non Edx 100 crs okay same with Srk but why single out him only? Total of 19 100crs for the Khan’s only 1 non Edx?? Phir kyon sirf Srk?

Some users here have become addicted to always humiliate the stars and not just SRK, Ajay but others too. For example in the recent article about heroines 100 cr list u would see them unnecessarily taking a dig at heroes who had nothing to do with that article. So it has become a habit for them. Open any article and u would see them making similar sarcastic and humiliating remarks. No matter what logic u tell them their mindset wont change. So I just opt to ignore them in large majority of cases.
Recently read a news that during the Preity Zintas wedding reception SRK, Salman, Abhishek and Lulia danced and partied together late till night. And I was wondering while SRK and Salman were partying together their fans must be bashing each other like hell.
Similarly SRK and Ajay share cordial relation with each other and even had informal lunch together in Bulgaria (which even lead to the rumor of Ajay playing a guest appearance in Dilwale) which should have dispelled rumors about any conflict between them but some of their fans still have to remember those SoS vs JTHJ days. And the list goes on.
