The 9th season of Bigg Boss, with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan as the host, will go on air from October 11 2015.
The first episode, which will reveal all the contestants on the show, will be aired at 9PM Indian Standard Time, after which the show will air between 10:30PM to 11:30PM everyday.
The change from prime time to late night 10:30 is because the show is considered to be inappropriate for normal family viewing.
The first season of Bigg Boss was hosted by Arshad Warsi, followed by Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan for Season 2 and 3 respectively. Since then, it has been Salman Khan all the way, as the superstar will be hosting his 6th consecutive season as Bigg Boss host.
Salman’s stint as Bigg Boss host coincides with his ming-boggling run at the box office, which also began from 2010 when ‘Dabangg’ released in theatres.

Yash Raj Films was started way back in 1970 by Yash Chopra. Since then, the company has had continued success throughout the years, producing a number of hit films. However, YRF’s initial ventures were not that much successful . With stars like Amitabh, Shashi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna and Waheeda Rehman, They had a few successes, including Kabhi Kabhie, Noorie, and Chandni, but overall, they were struggling.
Their first major success was Darr, starring Sunny Deol, Juhi Chawla, and Shah Rukh Khan. Aamir Khan was originally considered for Shah Rukh’s role, but because it was a negative character, Aamir refused. Shah Rukh was a relative unknown, and he agreed to play the part. The movie went on to become a big success, mainly due to Shah Rukh’s portrayal of an unstable, obsessive stalker. He won rave reviews for his performance, and YRF was back on the right track.
In 1995, Yash Chora’s son, Aditya Chopra, directed his first film(Remember , FIRST FILM, I guess you lallutards understand the meaning of FIRST) Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, which became a major blockbuster. The success of the film was beyond anything even YRF could imagine.
Soon enough, Shah Rukh Khan became a regular in Yash Raj Films’ stable. They went on to make a super successful Dil To Pagal Hai in 1997, with Yash Chopra as director, had another major hit in Mohabbatein, Aditya’s second directorial venture, and in 2004 there was Veer Zaara, a blockbuster directed by Yash Chopra.
In 2006/2007, YRF released six films. Five of the six films flopped. Kabul Express, Tara Rum Pum, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, and Aaja Nachle all failed at the box office. The only film that was successful was Chak De India, a film about field hockey that starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, with 16 relatively unknown girls as the hockey team. It went on to become a blockbuster, and also the rage of the nation. Once again, a Shah Rukh Khan film ‘saved’ YRF.
YRF tried their luck again in 2008, with Tashan, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Bachna Ae Haseeno, and Roadside Romeo. Three out of the four had no chance, failing in their first week of release. Bachna Ae Haseeno turned out to be a semi-hit, which could be considered a success for YRF. The real and unprecedented success for YRF came in the form of “Rab Ne Bana Di jodi” which became a blockbuster and thus, SRK once again saved YRF with another successful film.
So above stats clearly indicates that SRK+YRF is a guaranteed success, whereas whenever YRF tried its luck outside, results were not that much postive.
Coming to Dharma productions :
Dharma production was founded by Yash Johar in 1976. Dharma’s first release was “Dostana” starring Amitabh Bachchan, which was a commercial success. But their subsequent releases Duniya, Muqaddar Ka Faisla and Gumrah failed miserably at box-office.
Dharma was going through its worst phase (with huge debt and loans on their account) when Karan Johar took charge of Dharma in 1998. Karan Johar made his directional debut in the same year with “Kuch Kuch hota hai” starring Sharukh Khan which was the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 1998, and established Dharma Productions as a leading production company in India. The actor-director duo gave other major grossers like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. These back-to-back sucessful vatures turned into rescue for Dharma Prodcutions and Dharmas established themselves into the industry.

You idiot, as I already told both YRF and Dharma struggled a lot and they re-established themselves with the help of SRK. Also, it was them who were dieng to work with SRK and vice-versa is not true. If they wouldn’t have got the outcome as expected, they would have stopped working with SRK long back. You should be thankful to SRK that he strengthened YRF/Dharma till an extent where they are considering your khan for their movies.
