Bhoothnath Returns has collected Rs 3.5 crore on its first day at the box office, which is below-average for a film released on approximately 1350 screens across India. The first Bhoothnath film, which released 6 years ago on 600 plus screens, had collected Rs 2.5 crore on Day 1.
The film opened poorly in the morning, but managed to pick up towards the end of the day at multiplexes, especially in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.
The word-of-mouth is good, both the adults and kids are enjoying the film, that has a terrifically entertaining first half followed by a more serious ‘election-centric’ second half.
At most centres, the occupancy for the morning shows on Saturday is better than Friday, so the film looks set for a much better total today and tomorrow.
