Besharam has collected around 44-45 crore in its first extended 5-day weekend at the box office. The film opened very well on Gandhi Jayanti (Wednesday) but due to poor reviews and negative reviews, shows signs of its eventual downfall towards the end of its first day itself.
For a film with such a wide release (3550), business was down to an all-time low on its second day itself. On Friday, almost all circuits once again witnessed dropped in the range of 15-20%. While business did pick on Saturday and Sunday, the occupancy was terribly low even on Sunday as most shows were running to 20-25%.
Reliance Entertainment, who have invested around 98-100 crore on the film (80 cr worldwide theatrical rights and 18-20 crore print and advertising) have recovered around 30 crore from satellite rights (might be re-negotiated with the film’s dismal run in theatres) and will recover around 38 crores from India and overseas share. Even after various other rights (music, home video, branding etc), Reliance will lose about 20 crore of their investment.

And i have taken example of srk and salman movie which having worst wom among their last releases and both bodyguard & ra1 got highly mixed or negative wom in their respective last 5 movies. I know people say yjhd had big banner like dharma, but bodyguard was remake and ra1 was srk’s most ambitious movie till date and hugely promoted so if srk can get success like ce with popular heroine and most entertaining director rohit with positive wom (not mixed as srk fans and his haters thought) even indicine says same in their live blog section any body can check, so a success of 180 cr yjhd is reason enough to call him that he is superstar and deserving too.
@aakash Ranbir is not only a superstar he is a combination of a Star and Actor. Its a fact

@Aks yes Agneepath was a good example and the Agneepath runtime was 2hrs 54 mins runtime so no of shows were less compared to 2hrs movies so this had played key role in drop or less collection otherwise it will collect more i think you got my point

Wow, it is an accepted thing now that Besharam is a flop, but how can some of you compare srk, salman in same category with Ranbir?
People should have some senses before they open their mouth.
Ranbir never told he is superstar, and this he did even before the release of the movie, and not because the movie flopped.
Second, Salman and SRK in their early years had similar flops, and their star power didn’t worked during that time, and likewise Ranbir is still in the early years of stardom, and hence his popularity and reach is limited currently like it were for srk and salman.
So, let us talk sense and may be after next 6-7 years we can discuss the star power of Ranbir and criticise the opening of his film if it fails the second day, especially when it is a non-working day, just like srk’s magnum opus ra.one started spiralling down the first working day, even after being some 18-20 odd years in the industry.

He said, when the director approached him with the story, he said the film will not do well.
Now, what do you call that? He could have easily hidden his failed prediction, but he openly accepted he made a mistake in knowing the calibre of the script.
Most of the actors make comments just in the jest, but the media always gives us in bits and pieces so that it creates controversy to sell their papers or get eyeballs on their website, and many of these are by people who speak on behalf of stars, but all such things are associated with the star itself.
@JC. Salman is not a fool. He and even I can give statement which sound humble and honest and down to earth. It’s not a big deal to make people feel humble with some statement for an average person, thats called showoff. Aamir khan said he did Dhoom 3 not for records?, if that’s so then why would he acted in most successful brand, the answe is simple he want to creat some record. Everyone knows Salman rejected the role of Chak de, the obvious reason would be he didnt believed in the film, he rejected so many films, even bazigar lol.
@soroop : you have gone mad !!!! If you are asking where was Salman starpower during his flops n we can also say what happened to Abhinav Kashyap n his team? where are their skills in Besharam? I remembered you had predicted after YJHD success that Ranbir will take over Salman n Besharam will be a Blockbuster. What happened to Ranbir power now? was not that a show off? Salman didnt do CDI thats his decision he does not have regrets irrespective of movie’s outcome. Srk justified it with memorable role. We aint blind like to ignore facts n spout only hatred. Be in limits n dont talk rubbish about Salman else you will fall flat on your face like it happened with Besharam prediction.
@hrithik. Besharam had less buzz and it got negative response from general public. Morning shows started with 100 % occupancy that shows Ranbhir star power. Director can’t make every movie a successful one unless movie is a remake of recently released successful film. Salman movie had flopped on many occassion and incase Salman movie has less buzz and carry negativen wom frm public then salman movie also will have fate of Besharam. If u take Salmans last 5 movies, each and every film got positive wom except Dabangg 2 which got mixed wom but had many holidays and movie was a huge brand then too it hardly crossed Dabangg collection. Mark my word only Sharukh khan can give hit status to a bad movie eg: Ra one, other’s can’t do it. It’s all masala and wom working in Salman’s favour therefore people misunderstood Salman’s star power that’s all

FYI Ready n Bodyguard had mixed or negative Wom n to extent ETT as well. Only Dabangg got Excellent wom n a big thums up from critics. Do not give false facts just coz you hate Salman. Ask srk to give 5 consevutive Blockbusters by doing movies any genre first !!!!!

Dabangg mostly got negative reviews from critic but liked by general public, same goes to Chennai express.
