Bang Bang has collected Rs 128.03 crore in its first week at the box office, including collections from Hindi and all other regional versions. The film opened well on Thursday, but failed to show any growth in business on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday too, Bang Bang wasn’t up to trade expectations as the film just about managed to better its Saturday collections.
The downward trend continued on weekdays, with drops in the range of 15-20% every single day. Bang Bang will collect around 135 crore in its first extended week.
Individual distributors who paid a premium expecting record business for the film, will end up losing a part of their investment. Rajasthan distributor will lose about 2 crore. The film has collected just 6.2 crore in 7 days in the circuit, giving it a share of around 3.3 cr. The newly introduced entertainment tax in the state (effective from August 1st, a week after the release of Kick) has affected business.
Overall, as far as the all-India collections of Bang Bang is concerned, it has been a decent week for the film. Like Jai Ho earlier this year, business has underwhelmed the trade only because of the sky-high pre-release expectations and prices that a few distributors paid. It’s probably time that the trade stops expecting 200 crore grossers from films that release outside the three major festive weekends, as films that carry mixed reports fail to sustain. Also, ticket prices are hiked by 10-20% during festive weekends, which makes a huge difference to the final outcome.

Well the collections are good to be honest..but much more was expected from bang bang and its trend suggests that it won’t end up being a major grosser that everyone in the trade or those who follow trade expected
bang bang have avg wom it’s final collection will be 150-155 cr ( avg collection in 2014) all versions with 4300 screens, Ra.one had the worst wom of all time still it managed 130 cr ( excellent collections in 2011) all versions with 2800 screens … so it shows only SRK can manage to give big grosser despite bad wom

But you are desperately trying to give reasons for the failure that people are spreading negativity for the unexpectedly lower end collections.

May be suddenly the people of India has come of age, they only appreciate art movies.

The movie had very low buzz, to the budget and expectations it had.
May be it was all too westernised kinda stuff that we associated with Hollywood movies that failed to click with the viewers.
They could have moulded it to a more desi version.
Dhoom and Kick had international style stunts, but still they had that Indian feel about it.
Even Macdonalds have changed to the Indian needs.
May be Fox will learn something from FF and BB that just a copy paste of hollywood culture movie will not do any good.

Clearly biased reviews by online media against Bang Bang and negative collection reporting. This very Indicine gave Kick 4 stars ahead of Farhan’s BMB and Amir’s 3 idiots.
Also criticized Katrine in BB. Hrithik has done excellent but Katrina did well in her scenes. Almost brought tears in scene she was at home with her parents
What they find borinng in bang bang?? If compare with CE,kick etc.I don’t know..maybe they just don’t like him..but grow up he is only one actor who is completely complete.

@Indicine, what do you mean by a major festive weekend? Is it the weekend that had 5 days holidays including eidul adha that Bang Bang enjoyed or the week that had just two holidays including eidul fitr that kick enjoyed?
Having said that, good reply to nipun. They don’t want to accept under performance by Hrithik. Everything was in favor of bang bang but with a clash with a small film like bang bang…
@Anand, there is a reason why all three festive weekends are booked 2 years in advance. It does make a big difference because the audience is willing to spend more and ticket prices are also much higher than normal. Except Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, no film released outside Diwali, Eid and Christmas has crossed even 140 crore.

How many crores does a movie earn has never been on my mind but what BO Verdict that a movie gets has. Because despite earning 112 Crores, you guys call Jai Ho a Semi Hit or Above Average…
Non festive releases like Rowdy Rathore and Ready were Blockbusters. And recent release Holiday was a Hit. Ek Villain, 2 States: Super Hits
To me, if a movie is entertaining, it will work at any time..

The collections are below par considering all those holidays it got. That says a lot about the quality of the movie. They can’t even do the decent job in remakes also. What a pathetic state our film industry is in! All but money-oriented sh#ts.
I finally saw Bang Bang yesterday after a long wait! I was excited till now, but Well, I must say, when I left the theater, the excitedness turned to disappointment!
Everybody, should have known the plot of the film by now(there is no whatsoever, by the way). I have seen Knight and Day and I found it just an average Hollywood Action film with brilliant Stunts and ofcourse, TOM CRUISE!! trust me, Bang Bang is no different in that way! This remake has nothing different from the original except for the fact that it has been made for ‘Indian Audiences’ – the emotions and all and for those who haven’t seen Knight and Day. LOL. I don’t understand what was the need to remake an Average hollywood affair and make it same as it is without even filling the loopholes of the original!! I had already seen Knight and Day, so I knew what would happen next, which was no surprise to me!
I found the first half a little okayish than the second half. There was just nothing except Hrithik’s magnetism and Stunts in this half! The second half just drags and drags with a bad climax!
Though, being a big Hrithik fan, I was disappointed by the fact that he chose this film (K&D) to be remade! and spent 1 full year to it. Yes, the stunts were amazing and they were on par with the original. But, the huge letdown was by Siddharth Anand – this guys just blows off the huge opportunity and the budget he had, he could have easily come up with something different or more exciting than the Original given he had Hrithik or rather there could have been a different director altogether!
Hrithik charms and charms, he’s the reason you would sit and watch patiently for the 156 mins of the runtime! He’s marvellous, looks a million bucks (gives huge competition to Katrina). He carries the movie onto his shoulders. Katrina looks pretty and smoldering, initially good but when she starts speaking, mahn, it gets too irritating and definitely, this girl cannot act at all (proved again)! Their chemistry charms. Danny and Javed Jaffery are wasted in poorly written roles, they deserved much better! Songs, seemed to be interrupting the flow of the film but, they never sounded bad at all!
Positives: Hrithik,Hrithik,Hrithik, Some good songs, Good Action and Stunts, Cinematography, Hr-Kat chemistry.
Negatives: Katrina (she irritates to the heights), No screenplay (why did the adapt it even), Bad Direction(could have been much much better), Ordinary villains.
In the end, I would still not say it is a bad film, it’s just a one time watch. Unless you haven’t seen Knight and Day or your expectations are pretty less, you will like it. I just found it too same to Knight and Day – and that hurt me!

Well, It’s a week now and the Collections does seem good for this the fact that it released in 3600 screens in Hindi, had it been a solo release, I am sure it would have gone past 150 cr. in its 1 st week. But still, 136cr.+ in Week 1 isn’t bad – that’s the 5th Highest Ever!
@nipun and other HR fans: The negativity has been for all SRK and salman films, this is not the first time that a film has got negativity across! understand and don’t blame negativity for the lesser collections. Accept the fact, that it’s not a great film.
I predict: 2nd week: 35cr+ (22cr+ 2nd wknd) – 170cr+ till week2. Lifetime: 180-185 cr. – Hit in the end!

I m very big fan of hrithik..but I fairly accept..movie wasn’t which I expect..no effective villain,average music,weak script..thank god hrithik saves movie..he act well,dance well..what if khans were instead of him??they can act but can’t dance..my prediction film will collect around 170 cr.
Bang bang doing good in weekdays but opening weekend collection not expected to cross 200 cr.somewhere haider eaten bb ccollectin.
Great Collections..Lifetime would be 160-170crs..want this to be a Hit only for HR!!! :)
