Bang Bang has collected Rs 128.03 crore in its first week at the box office, including collections from Hindi and all other regional versions. The film opened well on Thursday, but failed to show any growth in business on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday too, Bang Bang wasn’t up to trade expectations as the film just about managed to better its Saturday collections.
The downward trend continued on weekdays, with drops in the range of 15-20% every single day. Bang Bang will collect around 135 crore in its first extended week.
Individual distributors who paid a premium expecting record business for the film, will end up losing a part of their investment. Rajasthan distributor will lose about 2 crore. The film has collected just 6.2 crore in 7 days in the circuit, giving it a share of around 3.3 cr. The newly introduced entertainment tax in the state (effective from August 1st, a week after the release of Kick) has affected business.
Overall, as far as the all-India collections of Bang Bang is concerned, it has been a decent week for the film. Like Jai Ho earlier this year, business has underwhelmed the trade only because of the sky-high pre-release expectations and prices that a few distributors paid. It’s probably time that the trade stops expecting 200 crore grossers from films that release outside the three major festive weekends, as films that carry mixed reports fail to sustain. Also, ticket prices are hiked by 10-20% during festive weekends, which makes a huge difference to the final outcome.

I watched this movie and also liked it bt the truth is that it has failed to sustain.
According to boi nd many more this was good period to release the movie as there were 4-5 holidays in continuity..bt its trending the way Ra.one or jai ho did.
Due to such high cost distributors gonna loose there money.
Nd verdict is semi hit/hit which is biggest dissapointment fr the movie like bang bang which had such huge buzz around and with star cast so big…
Even many people liked the trailer nd all bt it failed to bring audiences to theaters.
According to HR fans HRs film makers need not to concentrate on the contents of the film….The critics should give it a posetive review instead.
The last week was probably the best period ever for potential collections with holiday after holiday but both films have failed to get the best out of them due to content. There have been major holidays or partial holidays and a Sunday over six of the last seven days. This sort of week has probably never happened before.
The two releases Bang Bang and Haider failed to make the best out of the period. Neither films are flops but when you have such a fantastic opportunity with holidays galore, the results should be better. The clash was there but it made little difference as Haider got the release required. Bang Bang could have had more screens but with such spare capacity it would have made little difference.
Bang Bang is heading for a Ra.One or Jai Ho type of result where the makers will at best cover cost like Ra.One or there will be losers like in Jai Ho, here it will be the producers who could lose 5-10% of the investment. Haider will be a plus for the makers because Shahid Kapoor is on profit sharing as well as the directer who is co producer as well. But profits will be so low that it will mean the Shahid Kapoor and the directer have practically worked free. The scenario is different for Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif who got a big remuneration as well as the directer of the film.

Bang Bang team thought that with so many holidays in first week they can collect near 200cr by showcasing some good stunts but alots of people r aware of the fact that it vl b a shit. trailer was bad teaser was gud becoz it has only stunts but when the plastic actors opened their mouth the curiosty went down whatever Bang Bang is collecting is just bcoz of the action shown in the promos lots of people r just goin for that not to see GREASE GOD

@nipun, BB got 5 consucative holydays, still u r crying on festive season. Last year k3 released on deewali but sumhow it managed to collect over 170cr… So plz stop crying over holydays.
Still decent collections…i have seen some public review videos on youtube for bang bang where people are complaining about the content being similar to hollywood film style…may be which is why BB has’nt trended that well…

I was the first person who said only stunts won’t help…that’s y even having 6 back to back holidays movie didn’t performed…whereas it shudder have collected 200 crores till now…and also hritik looks like shaming kapoor type monkey…he is overrated…he shudder only do movies like mihejedaro….seriously he looked really ugly with yellow teeths in movie…last 30 minutes of movie were okay
My prediction(as a boi follower) for bang bang lifetime collection is 145-150 crs(hindi version), and verdict will be hit/superhit.. It has every chance of ensuring a superhit verdict if it crosses 80 crs distributor share..
