The theatrical trailers of two keenly-awaited Christmas releases, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani and Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, have been released.
Both films have been made on a budget of more than Rs 100 crore and recovery for one of the two films might prove to be difficult.
Dilwale was always going to be the bigger film, after all it had a massive star cast featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. Varun himself is a bigger star than Ranveer Singh and SRK is in a different league altogether.
The added advantage for Dilwale is Rohit Shetty, one of the top directors in the industry, whose track record at the box office can only be rivalled by the likes of Rajkumar Hirani and Rakesh Roshan.
But the battle for box office supremacy has probably evened out after the makers of Bajirao Mastani have released a theatrical trailer that has impressed the audience, critics and the trade. Come 18th December, Dilwale will still have the upper hand, but Bajirao Mastani is a magnum opus and a film that the audience would want to experience on the big screen.

Good trailers don’t make good movies. It’s so stupid to compare this two movies. If Aamir or Salman release their movie against Shah Rukh, that’s worth talking.

I pity those who say BM will thrash box office. Beta Hum SRKians shareef kya hue saare lallu panju tingu fans badmaash ban gaye. Its because of the SRK haters that SLB has become over confident as you people are praising BM as if its something extraordinary. A Big Big zero for you. Tingu Ande Wale ke Ande khao tum. Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are awesome. Bajirao Mastani would be blockbuster. Most of my friends are saying they will go for Bajirao Mastani first day first show.
Dilwale will collect more than bajirao because of stardom of srk.it will be a family entertainment movie.
Bajirao mastani will be a good movie but not in collection.It will show about the Marathas warrior and their history.

I like SRK films , however, I agree BM trailer is way better than dilwale purely in terms of quality standards, so purely w.r.t the question, I have voted for BM.
But end of the day, family entertainer will withstand the clash. I would not prefer to watch BM along with my kids and parents. Will wait for the DVD release.
Also I want to add that BM trailer is not just better than dilwale but even better than PK, PRDP, DHOOM 3, and the list goes on and can stop only before devdas.
So BM trailer liked by all critics/audience does not mean SRK lost something big

Indispensable Jodi coming once again.No one can match them.Again it had been proved in Dilwale Trailer that age cannot be a bar for king ? his queen(on screen).
I always considered Ranveer as a Chichora…. But hats Off to you Ranveer..From the trailer so far you have nailed it..No one other than Ajay Devgan could have done justice to this Role. Deepika is the finest Actress of recent times and this is another trophy in her kitty.. She is good in whatever she does..100 times better than Kats… Priyanka is an extremely Talented actress but chances are she might be overshadowed by Deepkia.. Comparing with Dilwale is like comparing Onions and Potatoes….I will surely watch this in Theatres.. One cannot enjoy this movie at home on Pirated DVD..this needs to be enjoyed in theatres.. I wish this movie becomes a hit so that our filmmakers can venture into this genre of movies.. we have the biggest history in the world and the best people behind Technology (Most engg working on special effects, VFX, etc are engg…)

As far as Dilwale is concerned…. most of our movies are of same genre…and I would ..say the same if it was Salman in Dilwale…Nothing new.. I stay in Pune and if I have option of watching one among the 2 then it will be Bajirao…
