Until now, the release date of Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale wasn’t officially announced by Red Chillies Entertainment. But the release of posters of the two films today, both highlighting the 18th December release date, has pretty much confirmed the clash between two films costing in excess of Rs 100 crore each!
With stakes at an unprecedented high – the combined cost of films releasing on a single Friday has never been higher – the trade did try their level best to avert the clash. It wasn’t to be.
The makers of both films want to cash-in on the Christmas weekend, which should result in this industry’s biggest clash.
Will both films work at the box office and give the trade its best possible result? Can a film like Bajirao Mastani take on the might of Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale? Can Sanjay Leela Bhansali finally avenge his embarrassing defeat back in 2007 when Saawariya was trounced by Om Shanti Om? These are just some of the questions that will be asked in the next few days.

Both films will do each other damage…dilwale is on bigger side…Dilwale will receive huge in its 1st weekend…BM should benefit in 2nd week…Content doesn’t win over star-power..but content helps on lifetime collections…But the funny thing is both film release on a normal Friday…which is not good..

BM is a 150cr budget period drama, so a clash with a film like Dilwale will be the most risky thing to do by SLB.

I don’t believe the BM will fail at box office and there was no need to avert the clash it’s a better film. My concern however is the manipulation that will be done by SRK to try to destroy BM we are well aware that he is going to do this. He Will try to hog as many cinemas but if the public would stop supporting his illegal moves then one would see the truth.
