Bahubali 2 Day 2 Box Office Collections

Bahubali 2 is on a legendary run at the box office. The Day 1 all-India collections were nearly 3 times more than any other Indian film and Day 2 is no different. Saturday was record-breaking at multiplexes, with metro cities recording better than Friday.

A section of the trade is yet to digest the fact that a dubbed film like ‘Bahubali 2’ is performing as well as it has in the core Hindi markets.

The Hindi version has recorded the highest ever 2-day collections of all time, both on non-holidays.

Approx circuit-wise figures for 2 days for the Hindi versions only (not including Tamil / Telugu / Malayalam):

  • Mumbai – 31 crore
  • Delhi UP – 14.5 crore
  • East Punjab – 9.25 crore
  • C.P – 5.5 crore
  • C.I – 3.8 crore
  • Rajasthan – 4.6 crore
  • Andhra / Nizam – 2.1 crore (Home state, Telugu is the main version)
  • Mysore – 1.25 crore (Telugu, Tamil versions are performing better)
  • West Bengal – 4.5 crore
  • Bihar – 2 crore
  • TNK – 20 lakhs  (Regional versions outperforming Hindi)
  • Others – 3 crore
  • Total – 81.7 crore (approx)

The main Telugu version which the film was filmed in, was historic on the first day. There was a drop on Day 2, but the trend is healthy. Business in the other South states are sustaining quite well. The 2-day business from all version except Hindi is around the 150 crore net mark. Including Hindi, the all-India business is around 220 – 230 crore in 2 days (approx).

Baahubali 2 has also decimated records overseas. North America will record a 10 million (65 crore) first weekend.

The worldwide gross of Bahubali 2 could cross 500 crore over the first weekend itself, making the 1000 crore mark almost a certainty unless there’s a major drop in business Monday onwards – which is unlikely.

To put that into perspective – In just 3 days, Bahubali 2 will beat the worldwide business of all-Hindi films except PK, Dangal, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan and Dhoom 3. PK will be history by the end of the first week.

  • @Raja so i am going to clear your doubt first of all in A.P.& Telangana or any other southern state the entertainment tax imposed by their respective government for their regional movies is very less compared to hindi movies in north & even hindi films releasing in south the entertainment tax imposed by the government is higher. For eg-A.P. & Telangana government will impose just 5% of the gross collection for telugu film 20% of the gross collection for a hindi movie & Tamil nadu doesnot impose any entertainment tax for a tamil film which increases the nett collection baahubali was released in telugu & tamil so it is one of the reasons why nett collection more in A.P. & Telangana & tamil nadu

  • @Raja i want to continue a bit more on entertainment tax- now coming to hindi movies bihar imposes 50% of the gross collection U.P. 45% GUJARAT 20% MAHARASTRA 45% etc so the nett collection are less & BAAHUBALI is released screen 2000 screens in A.P & Telangana not 1500. 3000 screens in whole south

  • @Raja second reason is higher ticket price in south compare to north & 3rd reason is more no of show per day compared to north

  • @Oldie Era Srk : Woh ched tere munh mein Jo hai that is why have to use my mouth. Keep licking !!!! ROFL ???

  • To South Warrior; there is a saying “ONE SPARROW DOES NOT A SUMMER MAKE’ before you criticize Bollywood because you made a dynamic film, let us wait until you can produce another and then a third one etc. Then you can boast. Bollywood has been continuously producing top class Hindi films, many of which are highly rated and have made endless money overseas. Top productions are now clashing,Your film is the beginning, after how long and how many tries…let us hope for another, perhaps Babadulai 3 but let me warn you , it will be difficult to match the GEM you have produced, and even more difficult to be another Bollywood.

  • Awesome !!!!!

It gives a big big confidence for others to makes movies on a large scale.

Big salute to all risk takers like –

    Rakesh Roshan for Krrish series
    S. Shanker for Robot (Enthiran) series
    Vysak for Pulimurugan, and now
S.S. Rajamouli for Maghadeera (my fav.) and Bahubali series

All this augurs well for audience who love grand scale or magnum opus movies.

  • @Abhinash First of all don’t give me this crap that the ticjet price is 4000 rs. in south or whatever it is only at selected screens in major cities i.e Hyderabad and Chennai and FYI the average ticket price in south is 200 coz there is no tax in south the tickets rates are bound to be cheaper whereas in Maharashtra and other states of north India the average ticket price is 400 in which 40 % is entertainment tax, This all are fake collections of south india and are just mere rumours as there is no official announcement from the bahubali producers of south.

  • @Raja u are Really a biased & ignorant person who doesnot have any knowledge about film biz first gain some knowledge about how movie shows are arranged & how ticket price is fixed in different parts of india even after providing detail analysis there is no entertaiment tax that doesnot mean ticket price will be less & what do u mean by rumour even boxofficeindia has given the same b.o. collection as other trade analsyst

  • You will see Prabhas in Bollywood but you wont see Shahrukh in Tollywood… that’s the power of King Khan. Will Prabhas have the longetivity of King khan? I don’t think so? Plus an actor’s main job is to act and not depend on special effects. In couple of years when everyone is into special effects Bahubali wont be even worth a second watch. That’s the difference… I can only congratulate the Director for his vision and the sfx team for a job well done. Acting wise we all have seen better movies no matter what the collections are from this movie.
