Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has collected Rs 13.30 crore on its opening day at the box office, a solid start for a film that was in news for all the wrong reasons prior to release.
The All-India total of the film is about 40-45% higher than other release this week – Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay – which was expected to be the bigger film in the much-hyped box office clash.
A 13.3 crore opening may not be huge in today’s times, but given the fact that ADHM released during the ‘Pre Diwali’ period and shared screens with ‘Shivaay’, the real value of the opening is probably around the 18-19 crore mark.
The next couple of days will be crucial for ADHM, it has to remain steady on Saturday, Sunday and then record its best day on Monday. There is a small drop at multiplexes today, but that was expected after a big start yesterday morning.

acc to producers fig differnce was 8 cr
for mumbai-Mysore circuit distributor hahk was little more profitable as compared to ddlj
but producers point of view given lesser budget and overseas revenue and a 60 plus domestic boost ddlj was more profitable

@Malhar Bro..I hated Ajay during the sos vs jthj clash because even after yashji’s death he decided to release sos on diwali and also dragged them to court.
Practically it was a wise decision to stick to his date and fight for his rights as a producer but at times as a member of industry you need to respect sentiments and emotions of film lovers.So despite all his justification that he respects yashji he still came across as an insensitive money minded person.
Fast forward to 2014.. Srk went to singham returns set and hugged him and somewhat the hatred I had for him subsided.
Now coming to the recent clash.Do you think it was a wise decision to post that I’m very relaxed just when your competitor’s movie’s trailer has just released.Isn’t that an act of cowardice and insecurity.There are stars like Hrithik who sent congratulated Akki after rustom did well.Salman and srk tweeted the links of each others movie.This is how you clash with others.
And then he lost all my respect when he accused Karan of paying money to krk.I mean seriously why is he bothered about krk.Is he someone who influence people’s opinion no.He could have simply called karan and sorted out the issue rather than indirectly saying karan may be involved in it.So despite trying my level best to not hate him he gives me plenty of reasons to make me hate him.
I don’t know whether I’m sensible or not but I’m also a human who gets somewhat emotional when somebody makes comments against your favourite director takes about lack of warmth in the industry despite his stubbornness in 2012.
@Challa i agree with most of your points and even i kind lost respect for ajay for what he did against yashji and i think he should have respected yashji and postpone sos. Yashji was the first one to announce JTHJ and so in all the senses he deserved a solo release and he shouldnt have dragged the issue to the court. So there i am done with who was right and who was wrong. But in recent clash, before ajay posted the relaxed post, krk was constantly bashing and spreading negativities. So ajay just checked to see why he was doing it and krk being attention seeking creature said he was paid by KJO. And ajay didnt blame karan he only tweeted that weather krk was lying or not. His main aim was to expose krk and not karan. Although it still remains unknown and mysterious weather karan really paid krk or not becausd karan never said anything and ignored the question on the press. So i am still doubtful. Even ajay himseld said that i was not against karan but against krk’s negativity against shivaay. And i dont think ajay posted the relaxed for ADHM trailer. I think media just twisted it and made their own story to create mess and ruin ajay’s image. I think he posted the relax pose only for fun and it was just like regular reason and had nothing to do with ADHM trailer. So i hope you get all these and dont take it wrong way.
