Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has collected Rs 13.30 crore on its opening day at the box office, a solid start for a film that was in news for all the wrong reasons prior to release.
The All-India total of the film is about 40-45% higher than other release this week – Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay – which was expected to be the bigger film in the much-hyped box office clash.
A 13.3 crore opening may not be huge in today’s times, but given the fact that ADHM released during the ‘Pre Diwali’ period and shared screens with ‘Shivaay’, the real value of the opening is probably around the 18-19 crore mark.
The next couple of days will be crucial for ADHM, it has to remain steady on Saturday, Sunday and then record its best day on Monday. There is a small drop at multiplexes today, but that was expected after a big start yesterday morning.

What a beautifully made movie by karan johar loved its every moments , mind blowing acting by everyone and SRK small dialogue is enough to catch the whole attention!
Opening is very good considering that it was pre Diwali and was competiting against Shivaay ..

Finally managed to watch Adhm.
Short review- the first half of the movie is super entertaining and fantastic however the second half is average.

Films like lagaan, BM, Mohanjadaro, shivaay deserve to get solo release, in other industries tamil telugu etc if some big budget movies are releasing other producers will allow them to have solo release but here in Bollywood full of egos and politics..
