An open letter signed by Aamir Khan was sent to the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi.

They are voices of all ages from every corner of the planet – the voice of a young girl currently deprived an education… of a pregnant mother deprived healthcare… of young people deprived decent work… of a family from a minority group fearful of discrimination from corrupt officials… of farmers forced to migrate to cities as climate refugees… and of billions of other people. Their voices will roar ever louder against the inequality and injustice that keep people poor. The great news is that in 2015 you have a historic chance to do just that.
Two critical United Nations summits will take place this year. The first in September, where the world must agree new goals to eradicate extreme poverty, tackle inequality and ensure a more sustainable planet. The second is the climate summit in December where we must ensure the wellbeing of people today doesn’t come at the expense of our children’s futures.
Together with critical discussions on financing, these opportunities are the biggest of our lifetime. We know from past efforts against AIDS, malaria, preventable diseases and saving the ozone layer that when we come together, so much can be achieved. Yet, with just months to go before these summits, few leaders are playing the leadership roles we need. We see climate progress but not yet of the scale that is needed, and a set of goals that are hugely ambitious but will be meaningless without brave financing and implementation agreements led from the very top.
If this does not change, we fear you and your fellow leaders could be sleep-walking the world towards one of the greatest failures of recent history. It’s not too late to rise to the occasion. We’re asking you to help lead that change.
Let’s be clear: the actions we take in 2015 will decide which way the world turns for decades to come. Please take the right path.

Great work Aamir, this is something that every common men thinks of, though there is no clue where to start from!! U did a good job to bring an important issue not only before government by letter but also people throuh movie. But I am not pretty sure, what positive impact it s going to bring for us.
In the movie also he asked a simple question”,thappa dikhao”, means god created only humen and not hindu, Muslim or Christian. Movie shows common myths about all religion and not only Hindus. Take it in a right sense and contribute as a human for the society.

Amir Khan, Your letter to our PM Narendra Modiji has sufficient aspects that the PM & his team has to address,but on the contrary You have failed (is it deliberate ?) to address the major issue that is detrimental to humans across the globe. Terrorism by Islamic radicals is what I am referring to , these insane assholes have taken people’s life for granted. Children,women,young ,old innocents are no consideration for these sick butchers of humanity. And I can’t understand as to why on earth you have not raised your voice against them ??? at least a line here to address this grave issue…… soft corner…scared of those cannibals…..

I would request you to make a movie on some of the contradictions in Islam
1)Beat Them
This verse advises men to beat their wives if they don’t obey them:
( Do you follow the same with Kiran Rao your wife? )
“Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.”
2) cut off the hands
This verse orders an irreversible punishment for thieves, taking away their chance to rehabilitate, improve as human beings and become a productive member of society later on. As an example, Terrence Barkley was arrested on his 16th birthday for stealing cars, but that resulted in him getting out of gangs and into college to study criminal justice at the University of Central Missouri.[1] If Terrence’s hands and feet had been cut off according to Islamic laws, none of this would have been possible. QR 5.38
3) Fight Non Muslims
This widely known verse orders Muslims to fight non-Muslims simply because they do not believe in the same God that Muslims do:
“Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.”

Watch Raju Hirani’s latest interview with Faridoon. He has given all the answers to all your questions. And by the way, why wasn’t this question raised when Paresh Rawal said, “Ganpati ke ‘stall’ me Maine 1 lakh rupayye bhari the.” He openly called mandir as stall. He was shown pouring wine in gangajaal.

First off all this country is called “Hindustan” 85% population is Hindu. So the bulk of the movie naturally focussed on blind faith of Hindus. I’m a Hindu and I thought that Lord Shiva scene was not humiliating. First of all that man was dressed as shiva. He was not shiva.
Secondly that scene was used to justify how blind faith spreads. Pk sees a man dressed as Shiva. He believes that the man is God. When he sees his Remote with the fake Godman who claims he got that device from Lord Shiva’s damroo, Pk thinks it was because of God, he got his remote.

My answer was getting really big so I broke it into 2 parts. About Allah, he has shown Muslim terrorists blasting a trainto protect their ‘khuda’ After that scene we are shown a TV news where the terrorists claim ‘We are ready to kill anybody.’
I realize you got pissed off seeing him ask for battery of murti. But the point is you’re repeatedly claiming ‘Hindus were bashed. Muslims weren’t.’ The point of the movie is we are all one. We are too small to know God and too small to protect him. You have actually not bothered to look at the message but the screen time taken to bash every religion.
Again it is your point of view. You may have different opinions about it, but blame them on Hirani and Abhijat Joshi not Aamir. They have made the film. I doubt whether the same things would have been said if Pk was akshay or Hrithik or Ranbir or Ajay. Its an easy way to rant, “oh, look, a Muslim critiqued my religion!!” And this was exactly the point of the film. God made us and we made religion and divided ourselves.
