2016 will be one of those years when all the superstars in the industry will release the biggest and costliest films of their careers. While Salman Khan has Sultan scheduled for theatrical release during his favourite Eid weekend, Aamir Khan will release ‘Dangal’ during his most successful Christmas weekend.
Hrithik Roshan returns after 2 years with the highly-ambitious ‘Mohenjo Daro’ which is said to be bigger than ‘Baahubali’ when it comes to scale and production values. ‘Baahubali’ didn’t have a superstar, ‘Mohenjo Daro’ has one!
We also have Ajay Devgn, who will be directing and acting in the super-expensive film ‘Shivaay’ which is scheduled to release in theatres during Diwali.
Akshay Kumar too is set to return in a franchise film ‘Housefull 3’, announced for theatrical release during the ‘Post IPL’ weekend.
There are three mega clashes next year, all between superstars, but the clash that is generating the most interest is the one between ‘Sultan’ and ‘Raees’. Shah Rukh Khan has never lost a big clash and Salman Khan never disappoints during the Eid weekend.
Akshay’s Rustom is set to release against Hrithik’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and Karan Johar has announced his plans to release ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ during Diwali – setting up a clash with Ajay’s Shivaay.
2016 will be a year of clashes, with the mother of all clashes taking place between ‘Raees’ and ‘Sultan’.
Ormax Media, India’s only specialised Media Insights firm, that tracks box office trends, has released their list of Top 5 films of 2016 (as of November). Sultan tops the list, followed by Dangal and Raees. Then there is ‘Housefull 3’ and ‘Fan’. ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and others, don’t find a mention in the Top 5.

Without any hatred,I would say yes SULTAN is the hottest movie of 2016 but I am not sure about its content at the moment.
Salman’s look is quite cool but lets see if he can portray a haryanavi character successfully or not.
Also Aamir will be arriving in December and comparisons will be inevitable.So Salman has to up his game for Sultan.

Look at the Teaser or say Trailer and you will realise what a Block Buster it can be.
Yes we are yet to see actual Trailer of others to judge as to the potential of those movies.

Dangal will be the highest grosser that year. Since Khabees and SULTAN is clashing, it might not earn as much as they deserve. Otherwise it would have been Sultan -> Dangal -> Khabees.

Other films have already released their Poster n Teaser. Housefull 3 is a sequel. But MohenjoDaro Makers are yet to release something officially. When it comes, it’ll easily make its way to the top.

Well,i don’t agree..No doubt,Mohenjodaro will be the bigger movie,with all the grandeur n big production house but Rustom’s screenplay is written by maestro Neeraj pandey,It’s a romantic thriller based on 1959 Nanavati case.Akki has his huge following n rustom’s budget is’nt that high..so it will do well.

SULTAN all the way.Salman’s look has generated more buzz than teasers of Raees.And it’s Eid.EID is incomplete without a Salman film.And king’s pseudo intellectual bitter fans like Challa can only BURN.
I guess Amir will have the final smile if content of Dangal is as good as PK and 3i. But again, its all about content . If Dangal is not accepted widely (highly unlikely) then I would put my bet on Fan (Though its too early to predict).
Because Raees (clash with Multan) will definitely be a winner of the clash , but Multan will affect its lifetime collection.
Houseful 3, Mohenjo Daro and Shivaay too looks promising, but still their collection will depend upon WOM and how they are going to be accepted.
It might offend few people over here, but its a truth that still only Khans are capable of giving at least “Hits” irrespective of the genre / release period and star cast.
Rest all have to rely on the WOM and content .
