The Diwali clash between Ajay Devgan’s Son of Sardar and Shahrukh Khan’s next, is getting bigger and better. Devgan is going out of his way to promote the film and has asked his good friend Salman Khan for an item number. Khan agreed and even shot for one scene recently. Says Ashwini Dheer, the director of Son of Sardar “We shot for one scene with Salman recently. But he will be doing (shooting the rest) the song by the end of July. Presently we are shooting in Mumbai and we have almost finished some portion of the shooting in Patiala.”

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara sweeps IIFA Awards

Hrithik Roshan’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, one of the best films of 2011, has swept the major categories and technical awards in Singapore at the IIFA Awards 2012. The biggest award of the night – the IIFA Award for Best Movie went to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Zoya Akhtar was awarded the Best director award, while Farhan Akhtar walked away with  the ‘Best actor in a supporting role’ trophy. ZNMD was also selected over several other films in the ‘Best Story’ category. The film also won several technical awards - Best Screenplay, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor, Best Choreography and Best Sound.

3 Idiots’ Chatur to direct a film

Popular for his Chatur (Silencer) act in 3 Idiots, actor Omi Vaidya is all set to direct a psychological thriller. Talking to the media at the IIFA Awards 2012 in Singapore, Omi made the big announcement ”I am directing a psychological thriller and it’s very different from what I have done so far. It’s very exciting but I can’t tell you anything about it because I don’t want to give it (concept) away.” When asked whom he plans to cast, Omi refused to reveal any names “It has got some big names attached to it. I can’t really tell you those names right now… hopefully, it will be good and all of you will enjoy it. I might act in the film too.”

Akshay Kumar’s son Aarav in love with Madagascar 3

Riding high on the success of his latest film, Akshay Kumar says his son Aarav Bhatia was initially impressed with ‘Rowdy Rathore’, but now he is in love with the animated characters from ‘Madagascar 3’.
