Akshay Kumar’s Entertainment has collected Rs 10 – 10.5 cr on its first day at the domestic box office, as per early estimates.
The film has under performed at multiplexes in big cities (much like the opening day of Akshay Kumar films like Boss and Holiday), but has done well in circuits like Delhi/UP and East Punjab.
Entertainment has a long way to go before it can recover its costs. The reports are good, so the film could show decent growth in business on Saturday. But unless the growth is 40% or more on Saturday, the film would still rely on its second week business.
Salman Khan’s KICK is still doing pretty well at the box office with net box office collections of around 2.25 crore. Even with the release of Entertainment, KICK is likely to collect around 8 crore in its third weekend.
Tips should have changed the release date but they were overconfident.
2weeks after KICK which is doing so well and has only 1week to perform.
Akshay sir should choose proper release date for his film.
Look at Singh Is Bling,they could have booked 2nd October,2015 which is free but no,the chose 31st July which is between a Sallu starrer and Srk starrer

I read afew more reviews where reviewers were praising the films entertainment values- jokes are well told, great expressions etc etc…

I think audiences too are holding back until favourable reviews come in so weekend should pick up as most reviews are liking the entertainment quotient in film….
Entertainment 1st day will be 12cr plus
Film has already surpassed ShahRukhs ‘Yeh Hai Bakrapur’ plus it should comfortably win most awards at The National Awards when it comes to Best Animal friendly film (if there isnt then there should be an Award for these type of films)
Wow! 2.25cr on 3rd friday, thats mean 8-9cr weekend and 14-15cr week. Power of Salman.
Still i would say it is a decent figure considering the pre release buzz…Entertainment is also unlucky bcoz Rakshabandhan is falling on sunday.

Something to cheer for SRK fans,as KICK will collect 8crs in its 3rd weekend to reach 222crs…and then if on monday it collects 1crs and upto friday it will reach 225-226crs..
And with Singham Returns,KICK will be almost out of theatres and will finish around 228-230crs…
So SRK fans might consider it their victory as CE was released on lesser screens and ticket rates…

Entertainment opened good in morning shows, someplaces even better than Holiday. But did not show good growth in evening and night shows. Hopefully, it will have a 35+ cr. weekend. Which is not good in any standard. A big star like akshay kumar should not always dependent on WOM. There is something call boxoffice pull.

Some people want Khans to continue their dominance and they are allowing Ranbir to flourish and compete khans if he could,thereby removing hrithik out of the equation…the deliberate clashing of haider with bang bang(even though bb’s release date was declared earlier ,bb was a much bigger film) further increases my doubts…
But HR will be there and will rock and we will keep supporting him…
Romance new year looks a big fan of comedy films…he was supporting humshakals and now entertainment …

Could’nt agree more…looks like Akki does’nt want to release his films on holidays..or even normal friday around which there is no big film…also the marketing of his films need to be more efficient,most common people were hardly aware of a film called Holiday,but when they saw,they liked it.
I expect Warrior to get a good release date in 2016,bcoz promotions n marketing will be spot on due to Dharma…

About Bang Bang and Haider clash ! 2nd oct. is the best time to release a film in 2014, with so much holidays. Even better than eid, diwali and x-mas. 2nd oct is gandhi joyanti ( national holiday), 3rd oct (dushera maha navami) , 4th oct( vijaya dashami) 5th oct (sunday), 6th oct ( eid ul adha), 8 oct ( valmiki birth day and laxmi pooja). In recent time, no movies get so much holidays. not only 2, more movies can sustain in this holidays. Haider will surely get profit from this holidays.
@babaji: true! Even many sites show double standrd at the time hrithik. Arguably the biggest news site “TOI” gave an article on 200 crores actor where he didn’t include hrithik.hrithik was included in 150 crores club. But the same TOI gave an article on kick entering 200 crores on 11th day of release which shows that it’s the producer figure as producer figure was 200 crs in 11 days while boi had less collection. So they are following producer’s figure for kick and boi for k3. Height of double standrd!

Waiting for happy new year trailer launch….after seeing kick collections how it is crawling to beat chennai express collections which was released one year back with less screens and competition from first week itself.it is clear again and again that SRK is a bigger star. Also the fact that kick overseas collections are at 10th position by beating 2007year on shanti om is again showing clearly how big SRK is!!! Happy new year will cross 300crores in India.. It’s a big challenge this year and it is fair competition also between the khans….. Kick is solo release with 2weeks free run, even SRK will have 2weeks free run for happy new year and Aamir PK also has the same number of free weeks. Let’s come to conclusion who is actually the king of khans!!!!!
