There are protests at a few places, a few shows have been cancelled and few others have been disrupted. The film hasn’t even got the kind of release it deserves, but there are worrying signs for Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale at centres where it opened well on Friday.
In cities like Bangalore and Mangalore, Dilwale has shown a drop in business, while Bajirao Mastani has picked up by 30-40%. The gap has also narrowed down in North India, where Dilwale was expected to dominate. These are ominous signs, because centres like these don’t usually drop on Saturday.
In the Maharashtra state, it’s a different story altogether. Bajirao Mastani is already leading at several multiplexes in cities like Mumbai and Pune. On Sunday, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film is almost certain to surpass the Rohit Shetty directed film and could do so by a decent margin.
At multiplexes, there was very little to choose between the two films on Saturday. It was on this day that both Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani were expected to show growth in the range of 10-15%. Bajirao Mastani has exceeded expectations with 20% growth, while Dilwale remained at around the same level as Friday.
There is a good chance that Bajirao Mastani could match the collections of Dilwale on Sunday and if that happens, the writing will be on the wall.

I like Srk….i saw dilwale yesterday . To be honest i did not like the movie but collections like these are too low . Srk is the second biggest superstar in the country after Salman khan so his movie should have got a better response . I agree the movie does not deserve to be highest grossing movie but it atleast deserves 200cr and srk and his team worked a lot for this . More than Srk i feel sad for varun….he was the only acotor to have all movies hit or above that since debut but after coming with srk he lost that record as well . Dilwale collections would have been much better if there was no protest and so much of negativity even after clash . Maybe if he told anything bad then that was his opinion . Anyways i think srk will come back with his rich content films Fan and Raees . Right now not only me but even trade says that Sk > Srk but all our questions will be answered on Eid 2016 .

Srk >>>>>>>>>>whole Bollywood. No one can match his success all over the past 23 years, there are many who came and gone but no one remained super consistent for more than 10 years except for srk. He is declared biggest star in the world by BBC. No one cares about some 5 years blockbuster giving local star. Giving few blockbusters with help of south remakes, talented director and a brilliant child artist after struggling for many years by giving flops after flops and disasters doesnt make anyone a real superstar. Srk is way beyond this. His failure is like a dwarf as compared to his success. While others success is too short as compared to his failures. Srk is still much much bigger star than Salman. Period.
I think @indicine is getting a bit more disappointed with dilwale here, dilwale even if underperforms on sunday , wld definitely stay higher than bajirao coz of srk factor , 600 more screens n family genre which work better at smaller centres n also a bit coz of advance bookings n holiday ofcourse!! Even in the worst case scenario dilwale will grw on sunday by 15% ! So 23 cr is on!! On the other hand bajirao has already grwn 20% n can again grw 20% at best!! So 18 cr at best!!
