Tubelight was decent on its second day at the box office, but the film failed to show the 5-10% growth that it needed to suggest a positive trend. The movie has collected 42 crore in 2 days at the domestic box office, which is far less than what was expected out of a Salman Khan Eid release.
The next 2-3 days will be crucial for Tubelight, if it has to end with a decent total, although the distributors recovering their investment and the film attaining ‘hit’ status doesn’t look like a possibility given the level of collections the first two days.
Neither the reports nor the film is as bad as the reviews that the film got, but outright negative reviews and general negativity in the media, seems to have done irrecoverable damage to the box office prospects of Tubelight.

Pretty Bold prediction, 150cr is a tough task for sure. Its a bocoffice flop but mind you the BOI will definitely declare it Average/above average. They will keep going to give excuses. Its great from their side how they manipulate verdicts,footfalls and degrading achievement of others specially Aamir. Salman fans were expecting 5th back to back 200cr, while PRDP never crossed 200cr. They are saying back to back 4 300cr with tube light/tzp but forget Between Sultan & BB, their is PRDP.
Moral of the story is never undermine others achievement.
In a right film at right time all of these khans like Aamir, SRK & Salman able to conquer records. Even Akshay can do the same if he release 1-2 movie each year.
Generally every Asmir haters try to say Aamir is successful due to content. Without content to Srk & Salman also competing with likes of Ranbir,Varun etc.
Delivering content is not cup of tea.

No indicine you are wrong public are not fools they are not liking the movie.. It is too lengthy not a single person in the theatre liked the movie! If it ends with 146cr lifetime if will be lowest than clashed lower screen count dilwale 148cr..dilwale was entertaining it was not a bad movie it was perfect for the family audiences and they were loving it.. But some people want story even in comedy movies Comedy movies don’t have story look at golmaal dhamaal or any other comedy film.. Because of bajirao it doesn’t lived upto the expectations.. Thats all..!!

146 Crore is huge collection, I guess producer has not invest more than 46 crore as both two leading actors are producers and for child artist they might not have paid more. Profitable movie collection wise. Distributor share , sale price are inside story.

MARK MY WORDS-TODAY WILL BE 25 CRORES and Tomorrow 25+ and it wil continue at average levels from monday like. tuesday 15, 12, 10 and a healthy 2nd weekend of around 20crores and another 25 crores in remaining days . It wil finish at 170 crores. U r the one sayin its a decent film and rejecting it outrightly. Muslim audience are gonna save this movie from being the first flop of SK in 9years

This is a brave prediction. Collections of 146 cr will be way too low if the prediction proves correct. I will say it shall at least target 160-170 cr which should be a minimum for such movie with huge screen count plus solo release.
You had given a similar brave prediction for Dilwale which had shocked many including myself. Though it proved to be accurate later. But then Dilwale was clashing with another biggie having a positive WoM. Tubelight is a solo release and anything below 170 cr shall be a huge disappointment. Even PRDP managed to cross 200 cr and I don’t think it had a very positive WoM either.
In any case personally I would want Salman and Kabir to come together next Eid again (regardless of the box office result of Tubelight) with another large scale movie rather than Salman-Prabhu combo in Dabang 3 on Eid. Experiments fail at times but I would still want to see the combo of Salman-Kabir to come together again and deliver another awesome movie like BB.

Watched it yesterday Yes the movie Is little lower than expected But I personally loved Salman,Matin n Sohail’s performance the storyline was much similar to BB but BB was on another level
