FAN has shown a significantly big drop in both occupancy and collections on Monday. The average occupancy at centres that we tracked has dropped by around 50-60% from Friday and the collections too is low due to cheaper weekday ticket prices.
The drop is Pan-India. Single-screen business has crashed and multiplexes in cities too have shown bigger than expected drops. And unless the film picks up in the night, the Monday collections are likely to come in the 6-7 crore range.
In fact, ‘The Jungle Book’ is now recording higher percentage occupancy at multiplexes. FAN has significantly higher number of shows than ‘The Jungle Book’, which will divide the business and reduce occupancy, but it cannot be forgotten that FAN is running in its first week and it was the biggest film so far this year.
The evening / night shows could still pick up at multiplexes, like they usually do in major cities, but the occupancy both in the morning and noon is pretty low for the fourth day of a big film like FAN.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, FAN collected Rs 52.35 crore in its first weekend at the domestic (India) box office. The film has been made on a budget of Rs 105 crore, excluding the lead actor’s fee.

This was bound to happen. I expected this when I saw d movie. It’s not dat bad. For me it was a 2.5 star movie. Dat too only bcoz of d brilliant performance by SRK. Didn’t understand how it got so much of positive reviews. And d most important thing is that now SRK will know d difference bw a holiday and non holiday release. The collections doesn’t come down drastically during holidays unless it’s a very bad movie but during non holiday period if d movie is not well made this is what happens

Do u have any idea that SRK recently partied with SLB after BM won a national award and it was reported that SRK was one of the last to leave. My Name is Khan, JTHJ & Fan. 3 SRK films in last 6 years which under-performed at the box-office despite largely positive reviews ! Box-office fate of FAN evidences that great reviews by highly dependable critics cannot be construed as WoM of general public. This movie isn’t as good as you are pretending it too be. General public is CHOOSING Jungle book since no one gives a crap about DARR 2.

SRK has made a big comeback to the Bolly arena after a series of masala entertainers from the last 4-5 years. One of the best Bollywood thrillers I've watched since the last 5-6 years. Amazing first half, a slight declination in the sub post-interval session, and a brilliant climax which will put you in an ambiguity at the end of the movie and you'll be thinking about it again and again. The plot could have been a slightly better settled though. But I don't think any other movie without any actress in it and devoid of any songs, will be able to keep you glued to your seat throughout the whole 2 and a half hours. Amazing stuff from the Direcor, Maneesh Sharma. You're fabulous! :) Whatever it is, SRK is into one of his best avatars and he shows the world as to why is he called as the "Biggest movie star in the world". Take a bow! Salutes! :) Worth all your money! Go grab your tickets, and watch Fan. :)

The movie is not a masterpiece. It has its flaws but is still a very fine movie with SRK delivering one of his best performance ever. So last few days have been incredible here at Indicine seeing unbelievable kind of hatred and anti SRK and anti Fan comments. So good to see a positive comment.

By this weekend most of the FAN mulitplex shows will be allocated to The Jungle Book. Mutliplex booking status in BMS for a film like FAN that too only on its 4th day looks appalling to say the least whereas Jungle Book still has superb occupancy across most shows and that too on its 11th day…Oh dear..the King is indeed naked… :P
