FAN has shown a significantly big drop in both occupancy and collections on Monday. The average occupancy at centres that we tracked has dropped by around 50-60% from Friday and the collections too is low due to cheaper weekday ticket prices.
The drop is Pan-India. Single-screen business has crashed and multiplexes in cities too have shown bigger than expected drops. And unless the film picks up in the night, the Monday collections are likely to come in the 6-7 crore range.
In fact, ‘The Jungle Book’ is now recording higher percentage occupancy at multiplexes. FAN has significantly higher number of shows than ‘The Jungle Book’, which will divide the business and reduce occupancy, but it cannot be forgotten that FAN is running in its first week and it was the biggest film so far this year.
The evening / night shows could still pick up at multiplexes, like they usually do in major cities, but the occupancy both in the morning and noon is pretty low for the fourth day of a big film like FAN.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, FAN collected Rs 52.35 crore in its first weekend at the domestic (India) box office. The film has been made on a budget of Rs 105 crore, excluding the lead actor’s fee.

FAN is the only film to have no industry recognized celebrity except SRK yet made on such a huge budget, yes 105 cr, no actor/director/production house can dare to make a film on this budget with these exceptions.
FAN is the only film to not have a top leading lady and yet been made commercial, no actor/director/production house can dare to make a film of this kind.
FAN is the only film to not have any ‘Indian Audience’ flavor – drama, songs, fights, story (uncle, aunty, family drama scenes), comedy and yet been made commercial on a huge budget, yes 105 cr, no actor/director/production house can dare to make a film of this kind.
Yes, it’s SRK who can dare to take extreme challenges instead of repeating nonsense comedy or remaking south movies. Yes, it’s SRK who dares to play the most different characters but yet criticized for playing similar roles. Yes. it’s SRK who can play the most positive and most negative roles with ease on the planet, leave aside Bollywood. Yes, it’s SRK who can have a recognition in global market and yet being targeted by the Indian media and Indian goons. Yes, SRK is the duniya ka sabse bada super star, and we all are his sabse bade FAN. We will never care whether FAN makes a mark at box office or not, we will surely be ready with same enthusiasm for his next release.
And at last, @Indicine, have shame not to publish global collections of FAN and just keep spreading negativity against a single actor where as trying to make use of his stardom to just increase the number of visitors to you own site. Just by writing negative about SRK, you increase the visitors traffic by 50% and sometimes just SRK, yes just SRK articles on your page brings 70 to 80 % of visitors to your own great Indicine. If you really hate SRK, stop publishing his articles and then see the public response.

Well all I can say is yes the Monday update is disappointing but I know Raees will be a new phase for him.
Between the last time His movies did 2 streaks without a hit was way back 2004/05. Something very few celebs can boast about. no one sees that. Having a semi hit and then probably above average or semi hit again is not unlike Srk but considering the type of movies and a previous clash… I will take it.
