FAN has shown a significantly big drop in both occupancy and collections on Monday. The average occupancy at centres that we tracked has dropped by around 50-60% from Friday and the collections too is low due to cheaper weekday ticket prices.
The drop is Pan-India. Single-screen business has crashed and multiplexes in cities too have shown bigger than expected drops. And unless the film picks up in the night, the Monday collections are likely to come in the 6-7 crore range.
In fact, ‘The Jungle Book’ is now recording higher percentage occupancy at multiplexes. FAN has significantly higher number of shows than ‘The Jungle Book’, which will divide the business and reduce occupancy, but it cannot be forgotten that FAN is running in its first week and it was the biggest film so far this year.
The evening / night shows could still pick up at multiplexes, like they usually do in major cities, but the occupancy both in the morning and noon is pretty low for the fourth day of a big film like FAN.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, FAN collected Rs 52.35 crore in its first weekend at the domestic (India) box office. The film has been made on a budget of Rs 105 crore, excluding the lead actor’s fee.

It crossed 100 crore worldwide in 3 days…thats a huge feat for a niche movie but alas the negativity brigade dont care!!
Even though SRK performance is appreciated in movie by everyone, the movie and pre release reports was just over hyped.
My prediction that Fan won’t cross 100 crore will come true.
Boxoffice is just a number, FAN is beyond that like Dil Se, Swadesh, KHKN, Paheli.. SRK all the way

I expected at least 28-30 cr from next 4 days (7cr per day) but that too, looks a tough task now.
Still it manages to do 130cr to 150 cr. Hit to super hit…if we do small math…in 3 days it collected 52cr to make hit status still it need 77cr… remaining days 2.80cr avg per day for four weeks..it will manage to cross 130cr…
finally it will be HIT…nobody loses..neither emotional FANS or exhibitors.

But Raees will be class apart. All it needs is a good release date.
Thanks to the mega-popularity of SRK globally, it will still cross 200cr mark worldwide (which is a distant dream of other superstar on non-holiday).
Though , Indian BO figures are disappointing, WW box-office figures will compensate to it.

haven’t seen FAN yet, but am happy with the choices that SRK has been making. Im sure FAN might not be mass entertainer but will be a good watch! RAEES looks super interesting too!
SRK is going through a career low because he hasn’t done good films in the past years. But his choices are changing and the audiences is able to sense it…….
FAN was never supposed to be a big grosser. That is why a normal weekend during the IPL was chosen as the release date. Reminds me somehow of TALAASH, though TALAASH trended better than FAN inspite of suffering social media negativity of its suspense being leaked out!
Coming back to FAN, its just the choices of SRK as an actor that are encouraging now and thats a positive sign!

The movie deserved much better. This seems to be going the way of Dil Se, Paheli and Swadesh which were also fine movies and had excellent performances by SRK but didnt work at box office.
This is an experiment gone wrong but am proud of SRK that he did this movie. And expect SRK to continue trying different movies and remain away from safe movies like CE and HNY.
As per KRK YRF is the factory of flop films since maha crap dhoom3(2013) all YRF film floped at boxoffice not only in domestic but also in oversease too because people lost trust in YRF like before was. Last 3year YRF failed to earn profit the decided to cast srk n salman next project, so called big banner YRF yet to give 100cr without khans where Young actor with other banners gave many time.
