The first Dhoom film, written by Vijay Krishna Archaya (who went on to direct the third film in the series) and directed by Sanjay Gadhvi released in 2004 featuring John Abraham as a supercool-villain, Abhishek Bachchan as ACP Jai Dixit and Uday Chopra as Ali. The film, which introduced super-bikes to the Indian audiences, was well-received and went on to collect around Rs 29.5 crore at the domestic box office.
2 years later, the sequel was made with a much bigger star cast – Hrithik Roshan replaced John Abraham, Abhishek and Uday were retained, Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu were added to the cast to up the glamour quotient. However, when the film released it was Hrithik who walked away with the top honours, including the Filmfare trophy for Best Actor. Dhoom 2 also went on to be the highest grosser of 2006, ahead of Hrithik’s previous release Krrish.

Due to the tremendous popularity and success of the franchise, there were new rumours regarding the star cast of the film almost every other day. Various unknown sources unofficially confirmed names like Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan to replace Hrithik and take the franchise forward. However, on 2nd January 2011, YRF officially announced that they had signed Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif to play the lead in Dhoom 3.
The film released on 20th December 2013 and much like the previous film, shattered every box office record worldwide.
All three films have been immensely successful and popular, but a lot of people still consider the first film to be best Dhoom film.

Ok what if I say Rohit was great in Rohit 2 in 2006 but way too OTT in Rohit 3 in 2013….? 2013 is a tough compitition between the actors in terms of performance.srk in ce is nowhere near farhan,HR,amir,ranveer in ramleela,ranveer in lootera,akki in s26,irfan in lunchbox and many more.he isn’t even top10 performer of 2013.and he got best actor popular. HOW DISGUSTING!
Coming to 2006,there was no competition.HR won each and every award for krrish eg zee cine,screen,iifa etc.but in filmfare,he won for d2.so Hro was in his own league.

K3 is criticaly acclaimed film which was released in biggest holiday period of India.Its a solo release.
D3 released with mix critics response,without holidays after just 1 month after K3 & after all that it collected almost 25% more than K3 in India & 150% in overseas.
So come on guys accept the truth & be like loyal Hrithik fans instead of being Srk fans.

DHOOM 2 all the wayyyy !! i can see some of khan fans (especially srk fans) criticising about d2 knowingly even though deep down inside they themselves were thrilled to the sky after watching d2 in 2006.
Dhoom was mother of dhoom series and it was awesome, dhoom 2 was just purely fantastic with perfect combo of action,style,music,flawlessness, dhoom 3 didn’t feel like a dhoom film, barring aamir khan’s great acting as samar, that film had many loopholes. nonetheless aamir did awesome as samar. but hrithik as MR.A just stole hearts.
grow up khans(especially srk) fans , you people desperately want your khans in dhoom film because even you know dhoom has reached such heights that even though a worse script would still ensure success but who took dhoom to such height ?? hrithik and john !! so respect all actors !!
