42 films have crossed the 100 crore mark at the domestic (India) box office and a majority of those major grossers have featured bankable male stars in the lead. The only exceptions are Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Grand Masti – both of which were sequels to successful films.
So it’s quite clear that the Hindi film industry is not only male-dominated, but is also almost entirely star-driven.
Salman Khan, over the last few years, has been a mini industry. Since the second half of 2010, every single film featuring the megastar in the lead, has crossed the 100 crore mark. He leads the second best (Shah Rukh Khan) by a margin of 3 films.
Ajay Devgn has 5 major grossers, while the founder of the 100 crore crore club, Aamir Khan has 4 films – tied with Akshay Kumar for the fourth spot.
Hrithik Roshan has three films. He’s followed by the younger generation of actors – Ranveer, Ranveer and Varun have two 100 crore grossers each. John also has two 100 crore films, but both were multi-starrers. Arjun, Farhan, Sidharth and Saif have one each.

Why is it that after humongous opening in the form of Ek Villan and 2 states, why are Siddharth and Arjun films getting an opening in single digits again despite having hit songs and good starcast?
Salman, Aamir, SRK, Hrithik, Akshay and Ajay the true leader of the 100 cr club. Rest all chote stars have just 1 or 2 films.
And that 100cr are back to back by Salman Khan….! I think this record no one can break…!
If John can be included for HF2 and Race2 why can’t Abhishek be included for Bol Bachchan, Dhoom 3 and Happy New Year?

Ajay at third here is an excellent reply to those who keep questioning his stardom. Facts speak for themselves. He is only below Salman and SRK in this list who had more EDX releases obviously too. He should join SRK at 2nd after Shivay.
Amir with lesser movies always had to be a bit down in the list but we all know his excellent achievements. His records speak themselves. He is incomparable.
Hrithik also does fewer movies. His number will also increase.
And glad to see Ranveer and Ranbir there too.
Even Salman’s worst received recent film Jai Ho crossed 110 cr. Cowardrukh khan’s FAN failed to cross even 85 crore.
Not fair @Indicine, if you are including John Abraham for Housefull 2 and Race 2, which weren’t his films at all, then you must even include Ritesh Deshmukh for Housefull 2, Ek Villan and Grand Masti.

Only Salman and Hrithik are 2 actors who have not delivered an under 100 crore grosser since they entered this club. Highest number of 100/200 crore grossers also depend on the number of the movies they do. Actors like Akshay Kumar can deliver four 100 crore grossers in a year alone because they do 4 movies per year, but actors like Aamir and Hrithik do only 1 movie in over a year, so they don’t have as many 100 crore grossers as they would have had if they made movies more frequently.
