Shahid is a work of fiction based on the fascinating true story of slain human rights activist & lawyer Shahid Azmi. Accused of terrorist links, he was imprisoned under a draconian law before he went on to become a fearless lawyer. The film,  directed by Hansal Mehta, traces the awe-inspiring journey of an impoverished citizen who became an unlikely messiah for human rights and an inspiring testament to the human spirit.

Superstars like Hrithik Roshan, Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor were at Zoya Akhtar’s birthday bash last night. Zoya is a huge fan of Hrithik and has directed him in both her films – Luck By Chance (special appearance) and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Also seen were producer Ritesh Sidhwani with director Ayan Mukerji, Shahid Kapoor who arrived solo, Chunkey Pandey with wife Bhavna. Pictures below

Aiyyaa Box Office Collections – Verdict

Rani Mukherji’s Aiyyaa has failed to make a mark at the box office. The film has collected Rs 4.5 crore nett in it’s first weekend, showing no growth on Saturday and Sunday. The film was facing competition from 6 other releases this week (Makkhi, Bhoot Returns, Chittagong, Login, In The Name Of Tai, Prem Mayee) and older films like English Vinglish and OMG! Oh My God were still going strong at the box office.
