Prabhas’ latest flick ‘Munna’ had an admixture of different stories and the shades of his blockbuster ‘Chatrapati’ could be seen in the movie. Though the film had a divided talk before its release, the film was opened with a good talk. Dil Raju’s expectations did not prove wrong. Debutant director Vamsi Paidipally also looked promising. Prabhas who is looking for a hit gave his best of performance and made the film a hit. Dil Raju’s winning streak continued with this film and he could expect a double hattrick as he had five successive hits to his credit.

Munna (Prabhas) is an orphan. He somehow completes his school education and joins a college. Munna used to correct others when they were doing wrong and whenever they take wrong steps. Nidhi (Ileana) falls in love with Munna. Khakha (Prakash Raj) is a don in the city and nobody dares to talk against him. Once Khakha’s son Rahul teases a girl and her boyfriend attacks him with the encouragement given by Munna. Khakha plans to teach a lesson to Munna but after bashing the goons sent by Khakha, he straight goes to Khakha’s house to reveal that he was his son Mahesh. Munna tells his friends how cruel and scoundrel Khakha was, because of whom he lost his sister and mother (Kalyani). At this juncture Atma (Rahul Dev), the opponent of Khakha, meets Munna and offers his help but Munna refuses. Munna pulls down Khakha’s kingdom. Munna foils Khakha’s attempts to get Nidhi married to his son and at the same time unites Khakha’s daughter with her lover. Munna lures Atma to turn the next Khakha and forces him to attack Khakha. However, Atma gets killed in Khakha’s hands. Munna tells Khakha in the climax he could do nothing and Khakha commits suicide. The film ends on a happy note with the union of Munna and Nidhi.

Prabhas gave an excellent performance all through the film. He showed his muscle power well in action scenes and danced with Ileana with superb ease. Ileana had got an opportunity to perform to certain extent in the film besides filling the glamour slot. Prakash Raj gave his best. Dialogues by Koratala Siva and BVS Ravi is another major highlight of the film. Especially the one-liners received good applause from the audiences. Debutant director Vamsi Paidipally’s perfect script and screenplay helped the film move with a good tempo, right from the beginning, but the second half looked a bit dragged. Comedy is the only missing slot in the film. Though Venumadhav tried his best to give comic relief to certain extent, it failed to give adequate relief to the audiences. Rahul Dev’s character needs to be elevated. Debutant director Vamsi Paidipally looked promising. Music by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography by Ramprasad are okay.
