Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is proving to be unstoppable at the box office. The release of Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 has had little or no impact on its business as the film collected Rs 6.9 crore on it’s second Friday at the box office.
The 8 day total now stands at 113.5 crore and the film should cross the 130 crore mark by the end of it’s second weekend.
With unfavourable reviews and mixed reports for Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, and no major releases in the next two weeks (until Emraan Hashmi’s Ghanchakkar on June 28), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani will remain the first choice for moviegoers.
The film is almost certain to cross the lifetime collections of Salman Khan starrers like Dabangg, Bodyguard and Dabangg 2, and has a good chance of crossing the 175 crore mark!

yjhd is surely the best big film to release since 3i.hence,if a decent film like 3i can earn 199cr then yjhd surely deserves 199.1cr at the b.o.

@hrithik. Guess which actors continous blockbusters are more valuable. Salman’s 5 blockbuster are all masala genres with the help of holiday advantages plus countless open weeks. But sharukh achieved this feet with different genre without the help of holiday adavntages

this movie certainly has been a fluke hit. no one expected it to be a such a big hit. n as far as ranbir is concerned i think his tough times starts now. now his every movie collections will be compared with YJHD n anything less will be considered as a failure or said to be underperformed. ranbir will struggle to repeat such collections in near future. n this very media will pull him down. it would be interesting to see how he reacts to it. there’s a long way to go for him to become no.1. everythin fell in place for YJHD. right from superhit music, ranbir deepika pairing(first time after their break-up), big production houses, huge marketing n hype, youth oriented film, huge solo release n offcourse the timing of its release. post IPL is the bestest time to release any movie n the summer vacations just boosted its collections through roofs. everyday was a holiday! no other big release (YPD2 never excited the people), open weeks n summer vacations still goin on has meant smooth sailing for YJHD. this is not one of those blockbusters which became a blockbuster due to an actor’s stardom n neither this is one of those blockbusters which became a blockbuster because it was a brilliant movie. it became a blockbuster because it just got lucky! so many factors fell in place for YJHD which is a rare occurance.
I can feel the disappointment of all Khan fans….cheer up guys. You have to accept the fact that Ranbir is a very good actor and has proven it with a variety of roles.
