Yami Gautam has just signed the biggest film of her career. The ‘Vicky Donor’ star has been cast opposite Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan in ‘Kaabil’ which will be produced by Rakesh Roshan’s Filmkraft Productions.
The film will be directed by Sanjay Gupta, who has previously directed films like ‘Shootout at Wadala’, ‘Jazbaa’ and others.
Hrithik tweeted “I’m looking forward to this journey. KAABIL- we are capable of much more than we can ever imagine. Yami Gautam we are going to rock this!”
Yami responded by saying “Can’t wait to commence this journey, Hrithik ! Super elated to be working with you ! Let’s go !!”
Announcing the film, Rakesh Roshan said “After a long time, I have heard a novel story with all the commercial ingredients, so I’m very excited about it.”
On picking Yami as the lead female star, Roshan says “Yami is a fine actress and makes a fresh pairing with Hrithik. She suits the role to the T and we are glad to have her on board”
The director of the film, Sanjay Gupta, also said that the supporting cast will be as exciting as the lead pair
“The supporting cast of #KAABIL is equally exciting. I’m so looking forward to work with my buddies from earlier & new actors that join us” Gupta tweeted.
Kaabil is scheduled to go on floors soon.
Every Hrithik movie is a like a festival, they are so rare and special on their own. Cannot be happier after hearing the news.
Yami is one of the most beautiful actresses in Bollywood today, she can act, too. Not only Kaabil will be her biggest movie, but also most challenging one as she could be seen playing a blind girl in the movie. She has already shown her acting potential in a Kannada movie. I’m happy for her and with the casting.
All of his recent movies like Agneepath, Krrish 3, Bang Bang took over 1 year of shooting time, so the fact it will be finished in just 3 months makes me even happier.
Script of the movie is being told to be impressive by those who have read it, no wonder Rakeshji and Hrithik gave green light to it. The title ‘Kaabil’ itself sounds like a novel story.
Music is also likely to be in classic Rajesh Roshan style as he doesn’t need to go out of box for mutants as he had to in Krrish 3. Expect the music to be like KNPH, KMG, Krrish and Kites. Talented singers like Palak Muchhal and Zubeen Garg have already recorded their songs.
It’ll go on good pace, the only problem seems to be is finding a good solo release date. All major release dates are booked for next 1 & half years, no matter what people say, clashing a biggie with a biggie like Dangal won’t be profitable for either parties. Shooting is expected to be finished in June, so the ideal release time would have been Diwali, but 2 big films are already scheduled for it. I think it will be a non festive release and might release in November. Super excited!

One thing is for sure that Hritik with Kaabil will break his own records in manipulating the collections as he did it with K3 & Bang Bang. If we take out the manipulation from the original figure then Akshay Kumar will easily take take the fourth spot above Hritik.

Superb…heard that Kaabil is planned as a non-stop 3 month shooting schedule till the wrap and the shooting might start by end Feb or March. In that case I want Kaabil to release during X’Mas and challenge Aamir’s monopoly during the X’Mas – New Year period.

@sultan bhushan , yes I agree . hrithik can regularly give bigger hits than the oldie queen at the domestic B.O and he deserves to be in top 3 alongside aamir & salman .
In coming years he will easily topple queenie from the 3rd spot but the only problem could be the overseas collections , aamir & queenie are the biggest pullers in overseas and salman too with BB & PRDP has narrowed down the gap , these 3 can now give 100 crores grossers regularly in overseas even with above average content, so hrithik has to give a good overseas BO performance for him to overtake the oldie queen and I am sure can do that too, its just a matter of time when queenie would no longer be in the top 3 :D

Znmd failed 100 cr despite getting rave reviews nd super WOM ,overseas location, Katrina kaif……if it’s not much commercial then 100 cr can also be difficult for him on non holiday.
I got this news today and it is a great one . Yami Gautam is pretty good . She is beautiful and also a good actress . Her performance was superb in Vicky Donor . After VD she has done movies like Total Siyappa and AJ which do not justify her talent so this is the Biggest Movie for Yami . I am happy to see Rakesh Sir and Sanjay Gupta decided to cast Yami as we will see a fresh pairing . So first with Pooja Hegde in Mohenjo Daro and now with Yami Gautam in Kaabil Hrithik will work with 2 new actresses . I don’t think Kaabil will release this year as the shooting has not yet started and there is no date left this year . @Akash – ZNMD was 5 years back. It was not so easy back then to cross 100. Plus it was never made for audience outside tier-1 cities…If ZNMD is the example than even movies like Talaash underperformed. But that was also a multiplex fare…
Krrish might have failed to cross 200 but still did 70 crores more than another superhero movie released on Diwali :)…at least did not fizzle out like ra.one. Even it did not have a great WOM hence by that metric Hrithik > Srk….Haha. I am being liberal by giving BOI collections because if I give producers figure than Krrish 3 did twice Ra.one’s business at 243 crores…
