Q. Why Saif Ali Khan is not in the league of other khans as he proves himself by playing different kind of roles with much ease? – Harsh.
A. Saif doesn’t have the same mass-appeal that the three top Khans command. None of his solo-films have opened well at smaller mass-dominated centres.
Even though he made his debut with Parampara in the same year (1992) as Shahrukh Khan, the turning point in his career came in 2004 when he delivered his first solo-hit. Not many are aware of this, but Saif was Aditya Chopra’s first choice to play the lead in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, a film that he rejected.
His personality and choice of films could be the other two reasons why he doesn’t quite have the same appeal as the three Khans.
Having said that, the Khan surname doesn’t guarantee success. Quite a few actors like Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan – just to name a few – have faded away quickly.
Saif has been in the industry for more than 2 decades now and has created a niche for himself. He is still one of the Top 10 stars in the industry – way ahead of Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and others.

SRK was really very lucky in his early career. To grab some good movie’s missed by other actors.

If Aamir, Salman, Saif would have done those 3 movie’s, they might not have got the same results which SRK got with those 3 movie’s. But some how indirectly Srk was granted. This is Destiny.
Would u agree without Darr, Baazigar, DDLJ could SRK would have been the same star which he is now.

@BabajikaThullu don’t about box office but in your dream only jhon,emran,saif,ranveer and ajay has more fans than Shahid only but not in real world even in small area Shahid has more fan fallowing than ranbir first do some reaserch before speaking.i bet if any young actor would go through the bad phase that Shahid went through with all the negativity i doubt they will be even top15 in term of fan fallowing,i am talking only about fan fallowing not popularity and boxoffice.
