Q. What’s the total collections of all Hindi films released in 2014? – Sandeep (Pune)
A. Total of 56 Hindi films have released between January 1st to 15th May 2014. The total net collections of all films combined is Rs 751 crore, out of which the Top 10 films have contributed close to 600 crore.
Two films have crossed the 100 crore mark – Jai Ho (112 cr), 2 States (101 crore). Five films have crossed 50 crore – Jai Ho, 2 States, Gunday (78 cr), Queen (62 cr) and Main Tera Hero (55 cr).

@Mehul, Thanks. Top 10 films are Jai Ho, 2 States, Gunday, Queen, Main Tera Hero, Ragini MMS 2, Hasee Toh Phasee, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Bhoothnath, Yaariyan. Yes, remaining 46 have collected less than 150 crore combined and this includes films like Highway, Dedh Ishqiya, Bewakoofiyaan.. More than 32 of those 56 films collected less than 3 crore.

In case of Lungi Dance its one of the plus point of film…..All the films have their plus points……D3 had brand as its plus points, Salman s film as masala as its plus point and so on…..the main reason is people liked CE…..Thats why it trended well and earnes so much…..Tagging its succes solely to Honey Singh, Deepika, Rohit Shetty is just like giving full credit to ZAHERR KHAN for winning WC 2011….:-P

Talking about HOLIDAYS yes HOLIDAYS do increase a films collection but SRK has also given non holiday BB (CDI) and HITS (DON 2 and MNIK).

@Aarush — First of all pls clarify to whom you are talking to……based on your comments I realised that you are talking to me…..listen….I haven’t said D3 succeded only because of brand…..its a huge plus point of it…..but you people are unanimously giving credit to AAMIR fully as like his star power had drivven the film totally…..while in case of SRK its completely different. ……You are saying big banners means easy money…..ohh yea…..how much Dharma productions GTPM earned…..how much did TAASHAN earned…..how much will EMMI starrer UNGLI will collect…..Big Stars + Big Banner + Other factors increase the opening of the film nothing else….rest depends on content…..and this is where CE succeded.
