With the main contenders for most Best Actor awards every year (read Shahrukh, Aamir and Hrithik) having no releases so far this year, the main contenders are Shahid Kapoor for Kaminey, Salman Khan for Wanted, Saif Ali Khan for Love Aaj Kal and Akshay Kumar for Kambakht Ishq – all of whom, quite ironically, have never won the Best Actor award.
Critically, Shahid Kapoor’s performance received immense appreciation, but the movie hasn’t fared as well as it was expected to commercially, which probably could be the only reason Shahid “may not” win the award this year. Since its the ‘popular’ awards we are talking about, performances in movies that don’t fare well commercially are usually ignored (not the case always though, Shahrukh Khan won the Filmfare Best Actor award for his character of Mohan Bhargav in the box disaster Swades)
Salman Khan’s performance in Wanted too has been well-praised, both by critics and audiences. The other two lesser contenders are Akshay and Saif.
The last 3 months of the year though, have some great movies lined up for release starring actors who could challenge Shahid’s performance this year. Here are some of the performances to look forward to

- Salman Khan in London Dreams (releases October 30th 2009)
- Saif Ali Khan in Kurbaan (releases November 27th 2009)
- Amitabh Bachchan in Paa (releases December 4th 2009)
- Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh (releases December 11th 2009)
- Akshay Kumar in Blue (releases October 16th 2009)
- Salman Khan in Main Aur Mrs Khanna (releases October 16th 2009)
- Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots (Christmas 2009)
- Hrithik Roshan in Kites (release date not confirmed)

Without any doubt Shahid will win it for Kaminey. Saif and Amir………. mmmmmmmmm may be one of them.Kites will be released in next year. As usual Salman and Akshay have no chance because they keep doing crap movies
I think Salman khan has done very good……He will surely nominated this year….Have to see Whether he get or not…..If he get then..All those who critise salman will be quite…….One movie can change everything….And Salman Has just done tht at age of 44 ……Truely unbelievable….Sahid has also good chance…But donot know…He was critically acclaim but it was not tht big hit…HAve to See wht will happen.HOpe salman khan get award…He really deserve it right now…His acting was Superb eventhough it was masala movie but still He make the Movie very nice with his overthe top perfomance….2 big thumbs up for Salman
Well…Akshay will not be lucky this year..Really,he have bad luck..If singh is king was released this year ,might be he have great chance but after delivering 4 hit in 2007 1 hit in 2008,….He is still have no chance…Blue is not solo movie so have less chance ,Dhan da na dan is also not solo tht mean akshay will not get award this year….Hope his future movie next year will rock …..

Indicine Team: how can we decide and there wil be still 12 movies for release? and how can we see all of them at cinema in 3 months?! I’ve to wait till I see Hrithik, Aamir, Bigb and other actors’ performance.
We got Hrithik, Aamir, Shahid, Seif, Salman, Bigb, Ranbir & Neil.. which one who deserves the award?! We have to wait till 31st of Decemeber, after watching them all!
And Swades wasn’t a flop movie.. and if we value anyone’s performance so it’s nothing to do with the stupid box office collection.. we got our eyes, ears and senses to see and value their performance.. there4 the critics appreciated Shahrukh’s work and he won the award for Swades.
Critics may appreciate but The award is always fixed….The one who is well known to tht company get award..there were many other actor who performed well both critically and audience in tht year but SRK get award….Clearly showss ,how cheap is award in INDIA…..

No my dudes, Wanted is interestingly an entertaining movie. But it does not mean it deserves award for Salman, coz for those which gets name in awards they are something meaningful, but Wanted is just an entertainer,..nothing more. Even I liked Wanted for heart-beating thrilling story.
I hope still yet to come some best movies in this year…and patiently plz wait for those to judge the final winner.
