The trade had huge expectations from Veer and as of today, the Salman Khan starrer directed by Anil Sharma has managed to live upto it.
As we all know by now, business at multiplexes all over India was on the lower side (30-40%) right from Day 1 (Friday). Monday witnessed a further crash and the film has been rejected at the plexes. Collections down south are disastrous, business in two key centers in Karnataka – Bangalore and Mangalore – is way below expectations.
But what’s heartening is the fact that, the target audience of Veer, have taken to the film big time. Business at B and C centers in India is strong and the trending is pretty good.
Collections were strong on Friday, followed by a minor dip on Saturday, picked up again with Sunday recording the best collections for the weekend. Weekdays were always going to be crucial and the film has sustained well – Monday witnessed an expected dip in collections, but business on Republic day (Tuesday) was record breaking, similar to the boost that Wanted received on its first Monday.
Below are the day to day collections of Veer
- Friday – 7 crores
- Saturday – 6 crores
- Sunday – 7.5 to 8 crores
- Monday – 3 crores
- Tuesday – 6.5 crores
5 day total – approx 31 crores.
Week 1 is expected to be somewhere between 34 – 36 crores.
What remains to be seen in the next few days
- Can Veer sustain and match its Monday collections during the remaining two weekdays i.e today and tomorrow?
- Will the release of Rann and Ishqiya affect its collections? Unlikely to, since both releases this week are targeted mainly at the multiplex audience.
May be taran hadn’t seen ishqiya,or he loved rann more.that’s y he gave rann review first.but the question is can rann do another magic like paa?

I dnt know y u guyz r still debating abt Veer’s success ? Veer has collected 30-31 crore in 5 days. @ Hina- Thank God atleast u got it..;) Actually Hina i dunno if i shud believe ma source, bcoz tuesday was said to be around 5.5cr that is a bit higher than saturday fig, but here they gave it 6.5cr..;)
And accordingly wed collections wer 40-50% lower than monday so dunno shud i consider it to be 1.5cr or 2.5cr he he;)

The latest eg:is VEER..Its not a classic period drama in the lines of Jodha Akbar…..It s a unconventional with masala and jocks……..Can u expect any other bolly actor take this risk? But Sallu did….This makes me more attracted to Sallu….
Needless to say VEER is not a perfect movie…..But truly enjoying…….worth for money…………I know this movie is made for sallu fans….and they will rejoice it…Really i started to be his ardant fan after seeing this one………Now waiting for next ………..

Veer showed a heavy fall on Wednesday as it recorded around 2 crore nett business. The total now is nearly 31 crore nett and the week will finish around 32.75 crore nett mark.
The fall was expected after a big Tuesday but steady collections would have meant better a second week. The film will emerge a hit in some circuits but overall hit status may be difficult unless second week can show decent collections.
The film has not done well in Mysore, Tamil Nadu and Kerala but these are small circuits so the biggest let down has come in Mumbai and East Punjab. Better business in these circuits would have helped the films a cause a lot.
Taran Gave 4/5 to Ishqiya

in last 15 movies only his 3 movies Tashan , CC2C and 8×10 got 1.5 stars and all ohers go minimum 3.5 stars.
and his all masala movies 4 stars.
even he gave Yuvraj , Heros ,LD 3 stars and Wanted, no entry , partner , mujhseshadi karoegi 4 star.
i never seen abt Taran that he favored any star , he is always neutral in his reviews.

guys we have been living india for so long so common guys we have to uderstand this that most of the sites and trade people are saying this because this film has done extremenly well at single screens infact it has broken the record of highest collections in india from single screens. just remeber when BOI shows a comparison of veer with 3idiots and wanted at kanpur single screens they hide the figures of ghajini but i check it out on net when they comp-are 3idiots with ghajini and wanted at same kanpur single screens and as i know VEER has more collections than ghajini at each single screen though the difference is not much.
if someone not believing me just type 3idiots collection at kanpur single screen there you will see ghajini collection as well and after that compare it with veer collections and if i am lying pls notified me.
second thing the business of veer in bihar is almost double the business of wanted and wanted was considered as biggest grosser in bihar 3idiots was nowhere near which we all can understand why not a bihar film but ghajini collections too are a mile behind.
IN central india(CI) veer records second highest day even in history and only 3idiots is above veer but we neglect one fact just think if multiplex audience compl thrashed the movie what type of business it has done on single screen we cant even think of it.
IN rajashthan circuit VEER breaks almost all record and when even after the response at multiplex was almost phekka nearly 20-30%.
in CP BERAR circuit the business of veer is the highest till date at single screens.
in delhi delite golcha batra cinemas recorded never seen before figures. ghajini wanted was nowhere near it.
but in india as we know we always neglect poor people many people will even dont know that ticket even comes for 15-20 rupess in many cinemas of UP AND BIHAR which surely didnot affect the collections but fan ho to aise warna na ho.
i am diehard sallu fan but want shahrukh to break all the records of 3idiots at mutiplexes like veer has cracked all the records of ghajini at single screens. because it will show every one who show that 3idiots record cant be broken if salman can do it at single screen shahrukh can do it at multiplex

but now a days they are including it with commercial movies … that is not good both have there own charms so, like in previous decade these ishqiya , dev d etc type of movie are in art movie category ..so, thet should be included in that category only
