Akshay Kumar is gearing up for what could be the toughest film of his career so far. The superstar is working hard, not just to get into the skin of his character, but also to learn the arabic language.
A tutor has been visiting Akshay for the last three weeks and helping him get the diction perfectly right for the film.
Akshay’s dedication and hard work, has impressed Raj Menon, the director of Airlift – “Akshay always works very hard to get his roles perfect. His dedication is commendable and I know he will give the film his best.”

Airlift promises to be one of the biggest entertainers of 2016, a movie that is a edge-of-the-seat thriller. The story revolves around the biggest human evacuation in world history. A rich and powerful businessman, Ranjit Katyal (Akshay Kumar), becomes the saviour for 1,70,000 Indians stranded in Kuwait for the Iraqi invasion. The lead character, who has never considered himself to be an Indian, has to speak in Arabic at certain points in the film.

Airlift releases in theatres during the Republic Day weekend next year. Unlike Baby, which was a fantastic film with limited appeal, Airlift promises to reach out to a larger section of the audience.

Why Baby performed well?
Despite low promotion, no popular leading lady, no music album, niche audience…… it made 94+ crore at the box office. It lost few no. of screens and collection to Dolly ki Dolli or else it would have crossed 100 crore mark in domestic box office. Anyway it is a success and they have already announced Baby 2 for 2017.

Story of this movie is itself something unusual to Bollywood.
But i feel it deserves much better release date.

Some guys r saying that Arabic is hard to learn but that is not true, Arabic is like any other language, easy in some aspects and hard in some others. It depends on the learner’s background and ability to adapt to new rule…….hope everything goes well with Akki.
BTW, heard that Akki Akki reduced his fees by 1/2 and also will have an 80 per cent claim in the film’s profit share.

@Ajay Roxxx,@Jeni Shrestha I think that news as if budget is 30 Cr, andd aksay is taking 80% from collections, then movie needs 150cr to break even(130Cr to Akshay and 30Cr to producers) and this is highly unlikely!!! Akshay will not charge that much as he knows that none of his movies has collected 150 Cr until now!!! This news is just ridiculous!!!

Akki will not Charge a single Penny for airlift hence he will take 80% money from profit !! now films budget will be 30 cr…it will do minimum 100 nd will give around 55 cr to Akshay as 80% share !!
